ah.. its included BeBox. can be found here

check the BeBox.ini for some german to english insite.

the ibuscom.ini has all the setup for the messages and commands. so far, unfortunatly i cannot get it to work with anything bebox.

For steering wheel volume buttons :

add this at the end of the IBUSCOMM.INI file :

[ID:STW_PLUS_PRES]
MsgTemplate="50046832111F"
Label="S. Wheel + Press"
Parse=True
KeyboardMap="{+}"

[ID:STW_MINUS_PRES]
MsgTemplate="50046832101E"
Label="S. Wheel - Press"
Parse=True
KeyboardMap="{-}"

This will declare 2 msg. Set the right key you want to map (I have
set these to "-" and "+" here).

Then Add these 2 lines in the [IBusIdsDefine] section

STW_PLUS_PRES=159
STW_MINUS_PRES=160

You should be able to catch steering wheel +/- buttons pressed
messages.

Red face

Sorry to revive an old thread - but I've got Rolf's gadget installed and ibuscomm as described here:

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=412827

I've set it up to control winamp, but I am far from getting it to work properly.

...Ibuscomm properly reads button presses, but not all commands properly activate winamp. For example, ALT-F4 does close winamp but if I set a keystroke that I've configured as a Winamp "hotkey" doesn't work (example, winamp hotkey "f" skips forward, but setting Ibuscomm to send keystroke "f" or "{f}" does not work). It works if I push the "f" button on the keyboard but does not work if ibuscomm sends that keystroke...

Secondly, is there a tutorial or document about ibuscomm.ini? I wonder:

* What is a "MsgTemplate"?
* What is the [IBusIdsDefine] section? What do those values mean?
* How do I map the other buttons on my e39 BMW steering wheel, and the other buttons on my widescreen nav (clock, phone buttons, etc.)?

Many thanks,

Paul

Hi I'm working on my Ibuss -> Car pc interface in my X5,
and currently I have the volume working; I'll be coding the keystrokes to control the next/prev/mute this weekend.

Currently I just modified Varans free software to control the master volume when you press the up/down volume on the steering wheel. So if you download the IbusMonitor.exe from my page and run it in the background it should work.

http://www.geocities.com/isaakian/isaakians_page.html

I had to rename the extension to .txt to get it to upload~

Not sure if this is anyuse to anyone, but if so enjoy. I'll update it when I get more stuff working.

I want to map the Phone button to a keyboard letter (F3) as opposed to the setting that says "MUTE" anyone have any experience or suggestions this is the code i would like to change

Code:
;Steering Wheel PHONE Press [ID:STW_PHONE_PRES] MsgTemplate="5004C83B8027" KeyboardMap="MUTE"

Something like this i imagine:

Code:
;Steering Wheel PHONE Press [ID:STW_PHONE_PRES] MsgTemplate="5004C83B8027" KeyboardMap="{F3}"

Anyone got a clue?
