External App

I'm writing an external app for media engine in VB, but I am having a problem with Media Engine recognizing it's startup. The Media Engine toolbar does not load and Media Engine does not return upon exit of the external application. Does anyone know how Media Engine detects an external apps startup and/or any VB code snippets that I need to include in my program?

BTW I've tried searching but didn't find anything and I tried emailing the developers via mediaengine.org website, but I haven't received a reply.

It's just a small app to calculate/record my gas mileage.

Frodo wrote an app to launch external apps. Take a look at that and see if it fixes the problem you are having

I'll check it out, but I'd like to add the required code to make it work with out needing a launcher app.

Frodo's LMF doesn't fix my problem. I'd much rather just do the right thing in VB and have ME detect my apps startup properly instead a launcher program. Any other ideas?

I assume that the ME develpers don't visit this forum anymore, correct?
