Folder Options

didnt see this anywhere in my quick search and its a simple question so

i have my media folder like this...**** that was tough ill redo only the important

media folder>music>artists(deftones)>album>(adrenaline)

how can i change it to display the album songs in the correct order of the cd(like mediacar) and not in alphabetical order.. and furthermore IF and WHEN i do this can i keep my "mediafolder>music>artists>singles" folder to still display in alphabetical order,, for ex:if i change these settings somewhere itll should display the order of the id3 tags sequence number or whatever, but if they DO NOT have them then they should be displayed in abc order.. is this possible or available to change?

and i just realized another question i have

when putting pics in the media folder it displays all the pics in whatever folder regardless,, is it also possible to display pics on whatever song folder you are in,, ex: you are in "media>music>artists>albums>brushfire fairytales" and IN the brushfire fairytales folder you have a pic of the album cover,, so therefore whenever you are playing that album in the top right that album cover is displayed, and then maybe make an option for a "pictures" folder so after displaying the picture in the "brushfirefairytales" folder(the pic being the album cover" it would then cycle through the "pictures" folder, this obvioulsy isnt an option and i guess i just threw out a suggestion while asking a question...oops....... its my understanding,, and little experience thus far, that any pic in any folder in the main media folder will be shown and cycled through,,

That's a simple question? You forget to take your ritalin or something?

When browsing through folders there are two sorting options. By artist + title, or by filename. My entire collection is ripped with the filenames starting with the track number, so that's how I like it. There's really no foolproof and efficient way for M/E to tell if the folder you're in is an album or a folder full of singles, so we don't even attempt to sort by track number as presented in the ID3 tags. If you want this, go to <browse database>/<by artist>/<by album> and it will sort by track number. Oh, look in settings for the 'sort by filename' option. I believe it's under either the 'appearance' or 'actions' tab.

Yep, you better get to the pharmacy pronto. Of what I've been able to decipher of your question, no we don't cycle through the pics in the main media folder. What happens is when we play a title if the ID3[V2] tag contains an image, we display it. If not, we look in the folder that the currently playing file is nested in for *.jpg, *.gif, *.bmp, *.png files. If there are multiples it will slideshow them while the song is playing. If you only have one image in an album folder, you will only see that image. If you have a playlist of songs from different folders, you see the relevant image from each specific folder. As for your suggestion, personally I'm not very keen on the idea, but I'll run it past the other developer and see what he thinks. Myself, I would rather have a dedicated function in the program for displaying a folder of pictures [fullscreen] while listening to music.

haha,, thats funny ,, as i just got off my meds,, not in relation ro ridalin or at least not for the same pourpose..

as what i was saying about browsing artists then albums it will then display them in alphabetical order,,, which is what i do as i already have all my songs in correct sorresponding order,, and do not need for ME to search ID3 tags for that matter

so therefore i guess i will have to "browse" for albums instead of easily going through my already mapped out folders,,,
