XM Testers Wanted

I need a few willing participants to help me test some changes to the XM control code. I'm pretty sure I've tackled the issue with the XMDirect not being initialized properly, but I'd like to further fine tune the control code and pinpoint a unicode bug over the next couple weeks. I'd like a mix of XMPCR and XMDirect owners with any type of cable hack. Anyone using non-english character sets are also welcome (unicode bug). You'll be expected to spend a small amount of time tweaking and testing a few timing settings and communicating your results to me via email. PM me with a working email address if you would like to help.

is it for a stand alone XM app? or is it integrated into media engine?

I use frodoplayer for my frontend.. but I could fairly easily.. move my XM-direct to my laptop to test with...

if it was standalone.. I could have tested a lot easier and mroe frequently in my car..

I sort of understand, but then you do have a touchscreen - would it really be that difficult to toggle between the two for a week or so? I'll even understand if you decide to switch back to FP at the end of the test.

(props to the 9 fingered machine gun toting, chainsmoking, lesbian cat-monkey)

I'm going to blast out an email with a short survey and an URL to the test build as soon as I have 8-10 testers, but the more the merrier. C'Mon folks, we're half way there - need more takers before 4:00 PM today or I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

I've started this off with 6 testers, but I'll leave it open for a couple more days if anyone's interested. I'd really like to have this all wrapped up so I can get 2.3.4 released before the end of January.

New features that I hope to have ready by then are:

Save favorites playlist to different name <done>
Added GPS keyboard shortcut key <done>
XM favorites lists <30%>
Album art in place of folder icon in media browser
Picture slideshow while listening to music / radio

Thanks to everyone who volunteered! I'm getting data back from everyone and things are progressing nicely. With a little luck I should have the final build of 2.3.4 ready to go by the end of January.

sexy sweet. i can't wait to play. I still have another monht or so fto go for my cpc, but ME is performing great! Sucks i don't need XM. What would be hot would be if you could integrate and XM song recorder
