Small XM feature request

I would like to throw in a feature request for future versions. I'd love to have preset buttons for XM in the XM screen. Look at FrodoSatX and maybe how RR has commands for tuning to specific XM channels, XMCHAN;9.

Are you aware that you can create lists of XM presets? Would that help?

Yeah, I'm aware that you can create a favorites list. The problem I have is that my list is 30 channels long and I don't want to scroll through it. With FP, RR, I know where my 8 preset buttons are on the screen and I don't have to look at the screen while driving. Now, you said "lists". Can I create multiple lists and cycle through them? I haven't tried that.

The difficulty with your request is that there's really no place to dedicate to another set of buttons. Also this would require reworking the skinning system and generating new graphics, etc. One suggestion I would make is if you don't already have one, get an IR remote. IMO they should be required with every carpc. Touchscreens are great interfaces from a software developer's point of view, but they suck in an automobile b/c there's no tactile feedback and too often you end up having to look at them while you're trying to drive and touch a particular spot.

I'm not sure I follow what you're getting at about cycling through lists. You can switch to different lists on-the-fly with SWMP / BrowseMedia button (if memory serves it's the second from the left on pop-up button bar). Again, SWMP is something that's best used from a remote.

Ok, thanks for your thoughts. I have been thinking about an IR remote for a while.
