started working on a mediacar skin

what do you guys think?

one of my main goals is high contrast.

I think the buttons are placed more conveniently for driving.

All I have made is the audioplayer portion, and will probably be changing the font as well.. anyone have any font suggestions?

I pretty much did everything in photoshop and started editing the .skin file and mapped the buttons to their new xy axis' along w/xy dimensions

I've only made the audioplayer portion, but now that i have a good amount of buttons, and general styles made, the rest should be a bit quicker. I need to find some icons for the main page and find a new font since arial is so blah

btw... the list button is what the buttons look like when they're "on"

Yeah I was gonna comment on the placement of the buttons. It seems that the original MediaCar was catered for right hand drive dashes. With the buttons on the left, its alot easier to reach. I was gonna suggest that for the initial setup there should be a setting for right hand drive or left hand drive.

Looks very good indeed- easily legible at 80mph..... I like its simplicity- I don't think you really need icons/images on the buttons in an automotive environment, but that's just me.

I dont mean to be mean but it seems to be missin to style and some jazz man...

give it some spice and kick it up a knot and it will be pimp but like everyone has said it has a very good layout very simple and clean... its a great start for a great skin

haha.. cpro.. my thoughts exactly... the way that i sit in my car, having the volume up top is a bit too far from an easy reach, but at the bottom, it's a couple inches from my shifter. the page/up/down arrows are just a pain when driving

Drogon, I'm still looking for a good font
as for the main menu, i currently just have the background w/your buttons on it ... i've also done the external gps/dvd screens

thanks spaghetti

SJ, i hear you.. it's not quite there yet, but I think it mostly has to do w/the font... once i change that to something better than a basic windows flont, things should start flowing much better

for me the fonts dont play that much of a role in the fact that if you make the layout and background visually stunnin then the fonts will be overlooked by most (as long as the font follows the theme but only as an accent)
