this happens as embedded or not.

It works fine (embedded) for me in win2k pro/MediaCar 1.83
Under "Window search string" you must enter the app name.
WinDVD4 plat "Inter WinDVD Platinum"
WinDVD5 plat "Inter WinDVD Platinum 5"
BTW no quotes around.
But when it run, MediaCar is NO WHERE to be found on task bar (no problem for me).
If run WinDVD in regular mode instead of full Screen, the "Close" button of MediaCar is show so you can close the module. If WinDVD is run at full screen, you can't close the module because the close button is NOT there so you have to switch it back to regular mode to close DVD module.

Thought I'd stick this in the bug report....

I find that if I go back into the mediacar setup and change nothing. the MP3 player works again. Sounds to me as if that tells the mp3 player to look at my top level folder again.

BTW the folder problem only happens when I exit the mp3 player after choosing an emputy folder.

Ok, I was just wondering what you guys were doing wrong when...it happened on mine!! run-time error '13' type mismatch blah blah blah

Coyote, it seems to stem from the "CurrentPlaylistRecursive=" line under [GeneralAudio] in the Enviroment.ini file. Whatever variable should go on the end (1 or 0, true or false, I think) is not being written to the file.

Edit:
By the way, this is after you have choosen Select+ and then exited from MediaCar....I take it, that it should either be true or false, seeing as you stick false on the end after setup?

This bug exists in all MediaCar released versions but I'll post it now.
It is obvious which file names are invisible.

Yes, I know this bug also since the first version, the problem is that the VB Label control cuts his content only on space character, then if the name of your file has no space and is too long to be displayed entirely in the Label then it completely cuts his content.

I search for a solution to this.

One little bug I still have is in the DIVX player. I have multiple movies in my playlist. A movie plays nice, and I can fast forward fine (sometimes the control bar at the bottom tends to get away while still using it, so it tends to drop even if I'm still pushing FF, but it comes right back up after a sudden movement - Hope this is clear best try it yourself to see what I mean )

The bug is that, if you FF to the end of your current movie, I get this error :

Right: MEDIACAR.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "mem address" ...blabla ... memory could not be "read"
Click OK to therminate the program

Clicking OK closes MediaCar down.

On my desktop PC it doesn't even show this error, it just closes down MediaCar without error message.

I presume it gives me that error becouse MediaCar has a problem switching to the next movie while using FF? Maybe a simple "stop" on the end of the movie while using FF can resolve this?

Nothing major off course, just reporting

keep up the good work and don't lose faith as this project is definatly going in the right direction. Some versions are expected to be not as good as the last.

You build, we test then you fix the bugs, thats just the way for an on going project.

Remember just don't lose faith as this really is a great program.

DivX won't play

Have started using this great mediacar software, just need help on the DivX movies. It just won't play any of my DivX. Is there anything special I need to install. I have the DivX codec install in my computer running XP-Home. Mediacar keeps saying requires codec and then give me run-time error "5". I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. All my DivX movies run fine with Media Engine. I also have Winamp 3. Thank you in advance for the helps.

Just want to share what I found about displaying JPEG Picture files. All I did was to include the JPEG extension in the Setting.ini in the "VideoEXT". Then just treat the JPEG files as the movie and it will just rotate to display all the pictures in that folder. Hope this helps a litte bit.

Thanks "Cayote" for the Great Software "Mediacar"

Bug :D

Found a bug..
When I map a harddrive ("Control Panel"->"Administrative Tools"->"Computer management"->"Disk management"), like secondary or third IDE to be a folder under "C:\Media" named "Disc 3" the mediacar browser won't access it and just crashes.

This is an essential part of my media setup as i use 3 x 250gb drives and since its not possible to specify more than one path for videos and audio this is the only way i can do it.

Anyone know of other ways to fix this or maybe Coyote fixes it in next mediacar version?

Hey Coyote, how are you?

Just noticed today that the song title, in the gps module, doesn't change when the next song come on. It just stays on the first title. I guess it's supposed to change, yeah?

Also, I was trying out the 'gps to 2 com ports' thing, using DeviceComm.
While MapPoint on it's own works ok, MediaCar gps does not - all I got was the red flashing dot. Any idea why that should be?

Apart from that, everythings been working magnifico!!
