Yes I'll keep well out. Leave that to that woman who got off with Beckham and made a career out of it...

I have tried to refrain from posting in this thread, but I can resist no longer.
I can’t imagine anyone being so busy that they couldn’t make a single post in 4-5 months or however long it’s been. I am also pretty sure that Coyote has in fact completed the software, because Ice Pak started selling it about the same time Coyote stopped posting here. Which tells me that we were the beta testers, and will most likely never see the final product. That kind of ****es me off, only because Coyote led us to believe that we would have the complete software. And now that he has completed it all he would have to do is place it on his web site, but I guess he’s to busy for that too.
He is obviously not going to release the source, and beta testing is over, so it’s time to move on. Lets hope that some of the other software here works out better. I had high hopes for head unit, but it appears they are going linux only. A.I.M.E.E. also looks promising but it’s a few months off, and hopefully my skin will work with it.

Maybe that's true? Makes some kind of sense....
I think everyone who's made a popular skin needs to add a license to their artwork to prevent it being used for commercial purposes...

I think you are completely wrong...
I know coyote from a long a time ago on the French forum (that was long time BEFORE he went to mp3car)
He spend a lot of time and night... working on this software filling all the request....(a commercial version was not his goal)
Licensing from Ice Pak & some other companies is not a lot of money... (those compagnie have contacted him...)
The last news I have is that he stopped is work to build his own small private company (not related to pcincar you cannot make a lot of money in this field)
Now I suppose that he have a LOT of work for his small firm and no more time at all for hobby... (he also have a family)

So, do you think Ice Pak is selling the same version that we are using?

I agree, starting up a company, having a family and a load of other things, can take up the mans time. I mean the amount of grief I get from family about time spent with the car, PC and the little software projects I have.
However, it would only take a couple of minutes of his time to make one post to explain what is going on, whether it be he has no time to continue developing, whether he has sold the end product, or it's on hold and he will come back to it later.

i've seen a ton of open source developers just stop doing anything for years.. it gets hard to get online when you have a new family and then start a new business.. He might be working 80 hours a week on his new business and want to spend sometime with his family. Take a look at headunit which is made to work like mediacar.. or checkout any of the other number of free frontends.. there are a ton of nice looking ones in development.

Er, we do, headunit uses MediaCar skins, the most popular MediaCar skins have been ported to Frodoplayer... If you don't think there's enough nice looking front ends, why not start building your own - it's fair to say there is never enough interpretations of the 'perfect' front end.
