Are there any new updates for my bugs?

I installed MI about a year ago I suppose, since then I've not made any upgrades to the carpc and have totally forgotted what versions I am running. The wife drives it daily so I never get to play with it anymore

I've had a few bugs/glitches in the past which irritated me a little and was curious if you've made any patches yet.

When using Iguidance, if I use the MI GUI keys to navigate between GPS and MP3's, it usually locks up and gives me an error after the 3rd switch. Kinda sucks on long trips having to reload MI and reset Iguidance.

When zooming in Iguidance, Menu (routing options) is not visible unless you press zoom each time you select a menu option. It seems to freeze the screen until you press zoom which is okay for me but the wife hates it.

On occation when playing MP3s, the visualizations screen will sort of go 'full screen' and wont resond to any keys until the song is over. It will still show the gui basically and sometimes double tapping the screen will make it go away but usually the song has to play through.
That one could be related to media player or just windows in general but figured I'd ask.

Most of my issues are related to the embedding of IG so dunno how much patching could have resulted in the last year.

Still an Awesome FE, never had any other bugs (once it was installed right). Keep up the great work and good luck with your projects!

Thanks, glad I'm not the only one!! There is probably a bug thread where these issues have been addressed but searching this forum for data is something I dont have time for cept on weekends.

I've read he is working on the new beta version which will have a new button layout and I am SOOO excited as MI is the greatest! If my Carpc didnt have a small 1ghz processor and 300mb ram I probably would have went with roadrunner but I dont like using winamp at all.

Keep up the great work Red.

Thanks bro, I appreciate it. Yes Im working on this new version, but everytime I turn around my commercial version needs my attention and my custom installer in New York always has a custom version that needs to be done, so I dont get a chance to work on the public one too much. Its close to being finished though. Regarding iGuidance - if you upgrade to iGuidance version 3 and install the UMPC version, then rename iGuidanceUMPC.exe to just plain iGuidance.exe it will work/embed and you would no longer have to use the Mobile Impact buttons because iG version 3 is totally finger friendly. If you want I can hook you up with it for really cheep. PM me.

When you install version 3.0 you have all 3 versions bundled into one, you get the laptop version(small menu buttons), the UMPC version (big, nice, finger friendly menu buttons) and the pocket pc version which it reads the maps from the memory card.

I hadnt realized you released a newer beta with camera support. I had some issues overwriting the old version with the skins being different but after completely uninstalling and reinstalling it works great. IG V3 is so much better compared to 2.1.x.

My wife's carputer went down due to a "missing or corrupt system32\pci.sys" which turned out to be a faulty stick of ram that took 2 years to die.
So it was a perfect time to get 'permission' to update the GPS software.

I installed IG and MI on my desktop to test before carputer install and I noticed that when MI is running in the background behind applications, some songs (if not all) will trigger MI to flash the application window in the taskbar alerting you that it is doing something. When bringing MI to the front, it shows media and audio screen and if you click on media, it is actually shutdown and will turn off the PC.
If you dont respond to the flashing taskbar it will stop music and display the NES ROM Screen. I thought it was kinda strange, but it really isnt designed for a background application anyway. Other than that, I've noticed no prolbems like I had before.

IG 3 still has its dissapearing menu screen but when you go back to main menu then gps again, it shows the menu just fine where ig 2.1.x would give error or mi would just close.
Seems a ton more stable for running and switching tasks. I played songs for a while swapping between IG and Media but didnt see the "3 time" lockup/error message I use to get. I know some of these issues could or probably are related to conflicting software or hardware issues on my PC's as each problem seems specific to that computer so I dont really know if its a program glitch or just processing error.

Hope all this makes since, I just got off work and am extremely tired. Just trying to tell you I am very happy with both 3.14b and IG V3!!! Awesome work - hope you keep up the great work!

Edit: Also did you ever play around with the CD ripping and OBD support? I've been trying to get my obd software all lined out but I have so many 3rd party its hard to keep track of what has gauges and what has graphs. Also in the 3.14 version I just edited out the text on my unused (sat, phone) buttons so not to confuse the wife.

Speaking of un-needed buttons.....

I don't know how to code so this may sound a bit needy, but is there a way to write the installer to where you could choose which options you would want installed? I have no intent on using the phone or emulation portions of MI (unless it could be used to dial and actually speak/listen to the converstion via a mic in the doorframe or something like that, to the best of my knowledge w/out additional software (no clue what i'd need for a moto razr v3) this is not possible)

The new version has actually moved the phone button to the external apps module. Its no longer on the main menu. I dont know when I will be releasing it however. And yes, to use the phone button you would need the phonecontrol.net software.
