Ive been asked this question alot, and this is the reasoning.... All screens have the capability to do 800x600, even the wide screen lilliputs that are natively 840x480. It would take a tremendous amount of additional coding to make the program function to autosize to the fit screen size. In fact it would literally double the code of the program obviously causing it to run a heck of alot slower. The program is coded in Visual Basic which is extremely limited in the aspect of skinning and graphics. I would rewrite it in .Net, but I dont know .Net remotely close to how well I know VB, so thats not an option at this time. I know eventually Windows XP will be gone completely and so will VB. For now just as long as the skin graphic files are a high enough quality, the program should look good on any screen. In fact my commercial version runs only at 800x600 and my custom guy in New York has installed it on screens as large as 50" sizes and the graphics always look good.
We have run into issue with the commercial version where the vehicle we installed it in had a DVR software program that only runs at the 1024x768 size so we had to do a separate screen for it, though the client wanted it embeded in MI.
Is there a specific reason why you want to run at 1024x768?
