FM Radio support? Ever?
I've found a couple good deals on USB FM receivers, but I was not going to purchase it if there was no future chance that you will include FM Radio Support.
Are you going to add FM in the near future? Or are you just sticking to XM?

The biggest problem with any of the FM receivers is that the radio reception is incredibly poor. It would be sweet if there were any that had comparable reception to a car stereo head unit, and it just doesnt exist as far as I have seen. Tell you what, purchase the unit and see what the reception is like. I you dont like it, just return it. If you are satisfied with the reception and the radio has a developers kit available, I would be happy to add it to the program. As it stands now, you can have the program open any external app from the apps module, so you can have it open the radio software for now. Let me know, Thanks.

Yrean Red is a aware of the HCQT. I asked him about it a long time ago. He is waiting for concrete results on the quality. I was thinking maybe red could take a Poll after he gets the concrete results back to add it or not. Then maybe those of us who want to see it implemented could donate like 5 bucks or more each to help red get one for testing. If all else fails maybe we could run the radio in the external apps we would all just have to create a skin that we would like for it.

HCQT seems like it will be the new hot item! Can't wait to hear about its performance and see some great front ends for it. I am considering ordering mine, but would like to hear user feedback first. $150.00 is steep for something to just play around with. I already bought the Radio Shark and modded the hell out of it. I had some decent luck, but nothing you could do would make that thing work well in a mobile setting..... Money and time down the drain on that one!

Red,
Any plans to update for the HQCT? I love MI, but I also want to use my radio AND have a headunit-less install.

I still havent found any receivers that have decent reception. I guarantee that as soon as I start seeing reports on good quality computer radios that I will add it to the program, but until then well all have to wait.

They are still reporting problems with reception right now. Not to mention it is still really home grown and not quite standardized. Also from what Ive read about the HQCT modules is that they have intermittent reception and connection problems. Also to install the units, you have to solder this and that and customize way too much to make it work. I have set somewhat of a high standard of overall quality for my software, not to mention there is nothing worse than something on the car puter not working right in heavy traffic and ****ing you off... heh heh. When someone comes out with something stable and standard, Ill be the first one to write it into the software. Thanks for checking.

Red I know this is not the place to ask but Is there anything I can do to integrate slingbox into it? Slingbox is working great and would really like to get it into mobile impact.

Its very interesting that you ask about slingbox/slingplayer. My commercial version has that very thing integrated into it. I have been kicking around that idea to add it, but my vendor may have a problem with. I am however adding streaming internet TV to the media player module and will be working on it for this next week, so you should see the new release in the next couple of weeks. The new version also has the ability to embed pretty much any program you choose for GPS. You could say during the week when you didnt need to use GPS when your just commuting to and from work, you could set up slingplayer to embed in place of GPS. If you took a trip or something you could set up the gps again, I made it so that you go into settings then select your program by the following:
0 = iGuidance UMPC
1 = iGuidance 2.x
2 = Freedrive
3 = Maxsea 10.x
4 = Maxsea 12.x
5 = Users Choice - could be any program

Red,
That's an interesting idea with the GPS, but I use slingbox so much that I need something more permanent. What would it cost me to get a copy of the commercial version? I already have no FM radio so Sling is basically all I have. Dvds are only fun on trips. If you could think about adding this option in your next version I am 100% sure you will have a number of interested and loyal followers who will use it. At the very least you would have me.

My vendor doesnt sell the software on its own, he sells it preinstalled with a custom installation. Here is his site: http://www.mobiteklink.com
You could also set slingplayer up in the external apps module as well.
