Does EQ in WMP effect MI?
Is the EQ in WMP supposed to effect the music in MI? or is it just the Bass/Treble slides that effect it?
If the EQ in WMP doesn't carry over to MI, then is MI assumed to be a Flat EQ to start with? (disregarding the bass/treble controls)?
Thank you

The control I used for MI is just a small part of Windows Media Player. Its not the full program. The EQ is only an extension of the Windows Volume Control.

So how would we "tweak" the EQ in MobileImpact, besides the bass and treble....

Unfortunately I have not found a good way to do so in MI. I just use the cars head unit to make those adjustments.

is it possible to run an EQ in the background that directly affects the sound card while MI is running?

I havent found one that is finger friendly and graphical enough to suggest.

This is the major disadvantage that I have with MI that forced me to get a soundcard as the soundblaster Audigy has its own EQ program where you can adjust the presets and save custom ones.
Would there be anyway to run a similar program in the background but embed the controls into MI simply allowing you to move between presets but for any fine adjustments go back into windows??
This would make it very touch friendly as it only requires two buttons for forward and backward or even list your presets as defined by the EQ software and you merely touch the name to activate in the same way that you would select a song.

This is an excellent idea. Ive tested several different programs and unfortunately none of them were free. They all cost anywhere from 30 to 150 bucks. I am still on the lookout for a vb coded equalizer that I can get the SDK from and then add it to the program. I have been recently revisiting this for the next release and still havent found anything yet. I will double my efforts on this as this has always been a somewhat weak point in the program. Thanks.

I'd happily chip in $30 if you found one that you can use.

I have been messing around with this one for a little bit off and on. http://www.blazeaudio.com/products/webeq.html
This one is only $17.95
So far I can grab the sliders and embed them into the program, but they are rather small to use effectively and they can be resized, but the actual slider knob stays the same size. The other main problem is that the colors cant be changed to match any skins either, so its close, but not quite there. I will still be looking for a decent solution and working with this one more.

Good efforts there bud, when you find something suitable I'll happily chip in if you need funds for it.
Would it be easier to have that program load in the background of MI then have a forward and backwards button that toggles along the presets with the preset name displayed next to them? Maybe even just have the preset name displayed and each time you touch it it moves to the next preset in a loop. That would reduce it down to a single button.
This would save you having to skin the whole program and keep the front end a lot cleaner and less cluttered.
You could then put an MI Equaliser option in the Start Menu next to the MI.exe button that would boot into the actual program to change any settings with a mouse or trackball.
Most adjusting sliders is the last thing that you want when your on the move so this is probably best done during the setup of your system.
The other option would be to embed the sliders into the settings screen and keep the toggle settings on your audio screen.
Just let me know if Im going on a bit.

I worked on WebEQ a bit more and I found that it has 10 bands/frequencies and also saved preset buttons. I plan on making the preset buttons available on the new module as well as all of the 10 bands showing at once. I also found that If I captured one slider/frequency at a time or multiple sliders at a time, I am able to remote control them, then once it is finished being adjusted I can send it back to its original screen. I can move the original screen off of the viewing area so its hidden. I have used this technique in the program before when I embedded the iguidance 2.x menus.
So if you could purchase WebEQ for me and send me the download link or the actual program install, it would be a tremendous help, then I could work with the full version instead of the trial version. Thanks in advance.
