Alpha Release!
Okay, well here it is. Try not to laugh too hard when you use it. It is about a ~27MB download. This will be only the first time, since it requires .NET Framework 2.0. The next release, we will split the files. You will see on the download page the prereqs that need to be downloaded and installed, about 90% of you will probably have these...
I hope to here good and bad things from as many of you as possible... I can not wait to start fixing bugs and adding a ton of features.
Thanks again for all of your patience and feedback thus far!

Not working here...
Won't run... installs fine, then hangs at building database/splash screen
till this error pops up...
If I clear the error... the splash screen just sits there indefinitely...

Check out the README.RTF in the install folder. You need to Edit the Nucleus.exe.config and change the "MusicFolder" option to your music folder path. Sorry for the inconvienence!

Hmm,
Just curious.
Why do you need .Net 2.0 ? What features you're using which are not in 1.1 ?

Generics being the largest factor, but speed enhancements to the various namespaces, System.Xml being a large one. Native Serial Port support, data encryption API's, compression API's, etc.
We want to take advantage of as much of the new Framework features as possible.

Oh no, .Net2.0 screwed up all my .Net1.1 settings.
Luckily uninstalling it reverts all changes back. Uff.
Guys, just be aware of that...
BTW: I was able to run MMC just once, all subsequent runs failed with the .Net stack trace( you may want to catch it and display nicely ).

Thanks for the info... could you be a little more specific? What settings did it screw up. I am running all three versions on my system with no issues.

MMC Alpha Update Progress
The update to the intial alpha release is coming to a close. The new update will include all the bug fixes that have been reported, the loading bug being the most reported.
The new version also does not piggy back on Windows Media Player anymore. All audio is now handled natively by MMC.
I will post more info once I get the update on the server.

Well, I have several apps that runs the VSTO( tools for office 2003 ) and they use custom adjusted security changes in Runtime Security Policy( caspol.exe ). All of them stopped working.
I'm pretty sure it will change default security policy for the Web Services and IIS, sorry had no time to check it out.
