I am enabling functions as I put out new releases, so that is fine.

just wanted to give you a note that i love your software. i wanted something simple. . .and easy and that is what it is. . . . I wish i could integrate with my delorme street atlas 2006 but for now i just have it and MMc in the startup folder and use alt + tab to swap between them. . . .. . . . . gotta look into how i can apply some other skins to it. . . . .im not much into making my own. . .. . but would like to just change them up a little. . . .
I love this program .. . . i have tried several and so far media engine is really nice. . . . but yours still beats it out. . . i watned to give street deck a try before i bought it. . . .but when i download the trail it says its expired.. . . . i dont know how they plan to sell there software if the demo does not even work . ..
MMC for me all the way. . . . . look forward to future updates. . .
Chris

Hey, just wanted to drop another note. Ive been using your software on and off. Mainly because without a boot into selection, I cant boot into your frontend. So Ill boot into another and run yours as an external app. I just wanted to say that when I do use it, its freaking awsome. no problems that I can find with the Movies and MP3. Which Is what I use yours for. Keep up the kickass work. If you want help making skins and such, Id love to help ya.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments. I am hard at work on the next release. I do not want to promise any specific date cause I have been busy, but it will be posted soon.
Thanks for the help and feedback. When I start working on the skin builder, I can definitely use your help for testing and new skins.

Thanks Ben! I'm eagerly awaiting your next release. I use MMC solely in my car and I love it. Sure it's got a couple bugs here n there, but it seriously kicks! Thanks for all your hard work!

Hi,
I'd just like to say what your doing here is fantastic, very impressive looking bit of software you've made. I've downloaded it after reading about it on another Forum, can't wait to try it out.
------------------------------------------
I've been working on a proto-type car pc for a few years now and have tryed all sorts of different things. The main cause for my problems have been down to the hard disk, since they're very sensitive to movement (I've lost 2 hard disks in the past 2 years due to damage from movement). So I've purchased a 160GB external shock-proof USB hard disk which will store all music, photo's, DVD's etc and I can plug it in to my PC at home to upload new music.
I am now in the process of replacing the internal 60GB 2.5" Hard Disk with a 8GB Bootable IDE 133X Flash Drive, Windows XP will be running on the Flash Drive.
The only problem with flash drives is that although they can with-stand just about any amount of kinetic energy they're not good at handling read\write commands at the same time. So they work great just for running apps from, or installing apps on to, but don't work so well with page files (swap space).
The page file should be turned off when using a Flash Drive, as a result your computer will need alot more RAM, if you don't have enough RAM you will notice a reduction in performance and may encounter more serious problems. I currently have 1Gb which is enough to be able to run most applications with out swap space and offer a performance increase, but isn't realy ample for running larger applications.
I will be upgrading the memory to 4Gb DDR400 at a later point in time (when I have the money), which should be ample memory for any number of application and suitable for Windows Vista. I also plan to install a DSATX power supply and a MATX Motherboard so I am able to remove the inverter and build my own low-profile perspex case which will be made as small and well ventelated as possible making the system highly portable for any purpose.
My CAR PC's specs are as follows:
AMD X2 4800+ Dual Core
Nvidia 7300GS PCI-E Graphics Card
1GB (512Mb X2) Kingston DDR400
NFORCE SKT939 Motherboard
Creative 7.1 X-Fi Xtreme Music Sound Card
8Gb Flash Drive
160Gb External USB Shock-Proof Hard Disk
DVD-RW
PCI to PCMCIA Adapter
PCMCIA GPRS\3G Internet Card
Media Center Keyboard\Remote Control
DVB-T PCI TV\Radio Card
USB GPS Globsat

Ok, I've got MMC installed and it's awesum I have to say. Only problems with it I have are a few of the extra features are disabled and getting error's wen i click pause with MP3's something about requires BASS 2.1 followed by a debug error. I'm geussing it's still being worked on at present?
I think I made the right choice using a Flash Drive, they're lighting fast. Took me 20 seconds to format it in NTFS (writting over every single sector on the flash card), would of taken me atleast 20 minutes to do that on a 8Gb Hard Drive. Shame they don't support swap space, but I'm sure it'll have benifits in the long run.

I've got a quick question, will MMC be offering any support for extra commands such as the ones found on the Media Center Keyboard and Remote. For chaning volume, pausing and skiping tracks?

Keyboard shortcuts are already enabled. They were listed in the forum somewhere in the archives. Most are CTL+ key commands

RadioShark 2 and Destinator Support
Very interested in MMC as I to have a Mac Mini. Currently running BootCamp with XP2 as there are no decent GPS solutions.
As I am from Australia, Destinator (FreeDrive Map Monkey, GaroNav) is the only real option as they produce the maps.
Lastly, support for Radioshark 2 2would be appreciated as I have found it works every well and is a cost effective solution.
Cheers
