DashCommand stems from its window's counterpart that has been long since in car computers. It offers a wireless connection to your OBD2 port to bring you a ton of engine diagnostic tools.

With DashCommand for iPhone you can see all your available PID's in multiple skins, follow your acceleration and braking, see your g-forces going around turns, read your car's angle while driving, and keep all of this data for a log.

The only downside to DashCommand is that you can't swipe between screens, and that you need to tell it to switch to landscape or portrait mode before the sensor graphics look correct. That is because you will be able to customize the dash boards in later version.

I've personally used this software and it works very well. For all of you iPhone/ iPod Touch owners out there, I highly recommend it. (It is currently pending approval from Apple).

The new desktop version will be released soon as well.

Seeing as how iPhones bluetooth protocol wasn't open to developers till 3.0 I would doubt it. Maybe it's in the pipeline?

I would shurely hope so. Just having purchased a bluetooth OBD-2 i dont think i will be sending a lot of money on a wireless one.

How do you think you can compare the speed of the bluetooth version of the device with the wireless lan verison?

You have a link to the required hardware? I've did a bit of searching and came up with rev's hardware. I'm not sure if that's the same scanner or not.

I'm pretty sure a Lan version will always be faster than a Bluetooth version. WLan can get like 54 mbps and I think BT gets about 1 to 2 mbps. But for car diagnostics I wonder if you will even notice the difference?

What kind of reading Hz are you guys getting from the system (communication with the OBD2 interface wise).

I got a bluetooth scanner, and I get about .85 Hz reading on average. Can go up to 1.5Hz and down enough to bring the average to .85 Hz.


(Hz = times per second, so 0.85 hz means every update takes slightly longer than a second (1 / 0.85 seconds to be precise) )
