Well I am using FF 1.5 and no avatars for me! I am through a screwy uni connection where it is a free open wifi point that needs a VPN to connect to outside sights and everything... I will try at home.

I cant stand FF 2.0 because of the Alt+S makes the history window or something... I thought I found a fix for it right after 2.0 came out, but it made FF crash, so I just went back to 1.5

I think it's a simple matter of editing your config to change the key binding...
I've just dealt with it...
