Wikipost feature

I am not sure if we can do this, but do you guys think something like this might be useful? It will probably take a lot of work to implement and license this but I love the concept:

Its your forum to do with as you please....

However, I see someoen getting curious and asking "What does this button do?" from a thread about kittens or whatever. It will eventually make the wiki more cluttered than the current informational resources on the forums.

just look at the 'discussion' tab from the wiki and how it creates a thread automatically to 'discuss' the topic.

I agree the *current* wiki generates a lot of crap posts in the forum.

The way the wikipost operates is that it creates a miniwiki article at the top of very popular threads. Users can then distill and consolidate the most up to date information in the wiki post.

Here is a thread with 930 posts about wall mart exercise equipment. The thread is now summarized in the wiki post stating that all deals are dead.

I should also point out that the current implementation of the wiki bridge is no longer being actively developed. That developers dropped off the face of the planet.

We are continuing to use the current wiki bridge because it works and there are no major problems.

As far as the other wiki post idea goes, there was so little interest, i have put it on the back burner.
