Quoting a 'moderated' post casuses your post to look like it's moderated.
see this page, there are two moderated posts (obviously from a newbie) and when I quoted one of them, my post looks like it is moderated.

This is the suggestion forum. What is your suggestion?
P.S. I couldn't tell which post number you were referring to. They all look the same to me.

It's also a comments forum as in Suggestions/Comments
It's weird, the posts all look normal now.
However, user: boelle has two posts on that page, they were 'moderated' I assume because he is a new newbie, and so they showed up with a darker blue background than the others.
when I quoted him, my post also had the darker blue background, so it looked like it had been moderated.
I suspect that now he has passed the number of posts that allow his posts not to be moderated, the moderated highlight or whatever it is, has been taken off the posts that had it.
Are you confused yet?
Side note, the posts also had a little icon in the bottom right, A cluedo piece in green which when the mouse is hovered over says 'moderated post'. That has also gone now.

This happens to me too.
I can confirm that if the post is moderated, and you quote it, your post is then moderated. All you have to do is then approve your own post

Ah, so maybe others can't see them while they are like that. And because I am a Mod in that forum I can.
Oh maybe I should have approved them then.

I have had to approve some of bugbyte's posts when he has replied to a moderated post

Yep, that's true! I didn't notice it until a short time ago, either. The blue background isn't always that noticeable to me.
@meddler - I've done the same from time to time. I see a post that is moderated and have to approve replies to that post from a mod who didn't notice it.

You'd have thought there'd be a manual that comes with gaining modship
Oh and a little club where you could meet and chew the cud.

No handbook here, just help from the other mods. (mainly DP).
I suppose the club is the mods and admins area. I still haven't been able to find the bar yet!!

if you are a mod of an area, I believe you should have access.

Would you like to be a mod - you are not on the list...I am sort of surprised that you are not.

I am a mod of a small little corner(RR Plugins) of the RoadRunner forum, a position which has only just recently been bestowed on me.
Hence the reason I could see these wierd Darker blue posts whic apparently require moderation. And seeing as I didn't get the instructions of modship I didn't realise that I was one of few that could see them.
As for wanting to be a mod, I am happy to take on the responsibilities of a moderator, but a good moderator shouldn't actively seek modship.
One thing though, I would always be a member of the forum before being a moderator. (if that makes sense)

OK did some digging and this is straight from the vbulletin developers:
=======================
Only auto-moderate replies to moderated posts when they are explicitly chosen. This means replies to moderated posts will be moderated when:
- quoted with "quote" button
- QR button clicked
Doesn't do it in these cases any more:
- Last post moderated. Big "post reply" button clicked at end of thread.
- Last post moderated. QR with no click.
=========================
I have not had a chance to test it yet, probably won't be able to until after SEMA. But it seems like there's some logic behind it, but I'm not sure if our board acts as it was designed, or it's a bug. I'll test the behaviors above when I get a chance and see what the results are.
