Are there any ohter things we have to take into concideration? I mean the logo cant be to complicated, otherwise printing, like for stationary and what not will use more supplies. Also if the logo has to be printed in black and white, it may look ugly. Right now the current MP3car logo looks good, is simple and looks good no matter how you print it.
Right well the wireframe could be simplified to fewer lines and if the lines of the wireframe actually morph into the lines of the circuit trace (could also be a flush side angle or otherwise) then there is no messy overlap and it would be fine reduced to one color and such. Or like I said put a circuit trace "road" under the car instead of the background. Concept could be adjusted to meet needs.

exactly. I am colour blind and I can barely tell what it is let alone there is a logo in there...

haha yeah its a scion xb.. any normal car didnt fill in the headphones enough so it was my only option..
trying my best to incorporate car and mp3.. so a car listening to mp3's.. through headphones that have a usb jack instead of 3.5 mm was the best i could come up with so far.. if i sway away from designing it so much in sync with the name maybe ill come up with something better.

Well that tells me we do MP3's and OBDII in a car, but not a computer.

this is prob meant for a different thread completely.. but has there been any talk in trying to develop a more generic domain name? I realize mp3car is really about the history of this hobby and the first mobile installs, but it seems to me that as far as branding it would be more appropriate to own something more related to mobile computing or auto electronics. Clearly CarPCs are used for much more than music, and really this forum delves into areas other than CarPCs.
Just a thought out of curiosity

It was looked at previously, but MP3car has built up so much of a fllowing, including links and referrals it wasn't considered viable changing the domain name.
However they do have some other domain names already which mirror this one.
In order to change they would have to have the new one run in parallel and gradually phase across from one to the other, but it would take some time.

The point of this is connecting a car and a computer... there arent really any other plugs that we use directly to connect a car to the computer other than power?? i could put a picture of a battery i guess. OBD is the one plug that most ALL newer cars have. when you see that plug you know its for a car.. all the other plugs in a car vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.
So the idea was a OBD (car) and usb (which is known for a computer)... which is a car and a computer.. carpeuter whatever you wanna call it.
as far as showing an actual computer in a car.. i havent thought of anything yet really.. because everyone has a different install.. and a different route of having their computer in the car.. if i put a pic of a molded bezel.. ill prbably get people saying well some people have a flip up. just trying to figure out a medium which shows the basic concept.. of a car.. and a computer.. connected.
I got some more im working on though.. that might be more along the lines of your idea hopefully. Thanks for the input!

Why are you looking at changing it? The current one is fine, simple, easy to read and more importantly can be resized/re-coloured etc without loosing anything.
None of the logos (apart from the slight changes to the original logo) IMO would be an improvement, if not the complete opposite...
Just my 2c.
