Not all designs have to have fancy effects. Here's something very clear and simple IMO

Colors and text of course can be altered...

Hello

I'm Daniel; I'm new here, but I've been browsing on-and-off for a few years now. This post convinced me to finally sign up for a user account here; I suddenly feel the need to contribute

Here's my submission for my MP3Car logo contest:

You'll see a stylized "M" inscribed within the circle, which signifies connection (either by wire or radio waves), and the logotype in colors signifies the many different implementations of car computer design, each with their creative design. The logo is in vector format and is easily adapted for RGB web, CMYK and black & white print.

I can see this is the turning point where this website is getting ready to transition away from simply playing compressed digital music in cars to full-fledged vehicle convergence technology. I witnessed the transformation from early home brew hacks, Empeg Car, to the latest in computing technology. I've designed the logo to reflect the fast change nature of our interests, and I thank you for your consideration.

Best regards,
Daniel

Why not just change MP3 to PC. So it reads PCCar.com? That sounds alittle better. Not sure if that name is taken though.

We all agree - could this be black and white..how would that look. It would be a great bumper sticker, but with so many colors, it would be a little pricey.

This is the logo I am suffering to just to be clear. I really like how this explains it all - well it would explain everything we did if there were a bus and a boat in the box with the car.

In terms of logo and domain changes -

This has all been brought about because we are developing a new main website. The purpose is to sell more custom computing projects to the large companies who pay our bills and make this forum go. We wanted to at least clean up the logo.

As our bounce rate is pretty high for mp3 car...this indicates that many people who come to our site, are not looking for car computing information. It also seems like with the change in mobile computing technology, BugByte's kill his carpc work log, and the proliferation of new FEs and a whole bunch of interesting work going on in all areas of mobile computing here, that this site is no longer just car computing. Just like a while back it was not just about playing mp3s in the car.

But - this is our site - so if you guys think that mp3Car works better than maybe some new domain name that relates more towards mobile computing and innovation, then at the very least, it would be great to have an image that clarifies some of this.

Interesting point about splitting domains....and the idea of two domain names might be interesting - to separate the company name from the forum itself?

I really appreciate your thoughts on this - the better we can do at marketing to the companies that hire us and pay our bills, the better we can make these forums. Like print that bumper sticker and give it for free to meet ups and every order that is shipped.

this completely changes the type of logo that you should be looking for(and we should be designing ). looking at the other images, and my own ideas, none of these would give a very professional look for the company--but most are good ideas for the forum (my idea for a forum icon are more for fun , a professional logo is more about what the company does).

IMHO, it might be better to change/add a different domain name that can be used for professional business-and that better indicates what the company is all about. if i ran the show, i would probably do something like this, and just put something on the homepage that i also support mp3car.com..but i don't...and its only my opinion...

Hello all,

This is a few more ideas I'm working with at the moment.

I'm expanding on the "M" concept, with the emphasis on "mobile". In these design ideas I'm moving away from logotype to a more defined logo featuring the letter "M" prominently. While I believe colors in a company logo is necessary these days, I've included black & white versions that can be easily printed on company letterhead, invoices, and other documents.

The bumper sticker is for the forums and forum related events.

Yes - I am leaning towards this concept of two names as again, the key is to keep the projects coming that allow us to support the forums.

Hello all

I played around the idea of making the logo transportation-centric. It depicts a steering wheel for a vehicle (car, bus, boat, etc) with the MP3Car text.
