1. LinuxICE for its potential
2. open source Road Runner for its potential that never happened
3. xPort3 for solving a very elementary problem
4. Capture! for sheer enjoyment and security
5. iGuidance UMPC for porting to mobile computing and being finger friendly

I'm assuming he counts because he's a forum member here and the devices he creates he does so for himself first...and then offers them to anyone who wants them...Mitch!!!
1) Mitch's Audio Selector box - totally saved my bacon and got my CarPC switching audio sources reliably!!
2) Mitch's SC-C1 Sirius interface - Simple and elegant
3) Mitch's HDRadio cable for the Visteon receiver
4) Fusion Brain - totally agree with others...the potential here is nearly limitless!

Is it a bit narcissistic to rack up my own programs in spots one and two?
1) obdgpslogger
2) obdsim
3) LinuxICE
Hardware wise
4,5) OBDPro, OBDLink
The OBDPro works with *slightly* less hassle out of the box, and the OBDLink works *slightly* faster out of the box, so it's hard to claim one is noticably better than the other; it all depends on what you want

Think we should disallow people promoting their own products.

And I have to say UsuallyGenius and Tidder have a couple of dubious votes as well.

Well, in the end...it will come down to the number of voters per product - and this time, there is no room for the Rep Club

They asked our opinions as to the best forum made products/programs. We gave our opinions as to what we thought were the best forum made products/programs. I wasn't aware there were qualifiers on who could vote and who couldn't on what....

I think voting for your product is just fine, but no one should feel that they have to vote for their own product. Keep the votes coming!

Well common sense and decency normally precludes people from voting for their own productions.

I'm going to let this discussion drop, because it can go nowhere but downhill.

I wonder if Obama was allowed to vote for himself... In fact, I'm trying to think of another real world system that disallows self-voting... nope, can't think of one....
I tried to be as unbiased as possible. That's why I have RR as #2 even though I despise it (for religious and technical reasons). I do however recognize its overall importance. It's old, but It's still insanely featured and very useful to lots of forum members.
Conceptually and technologically, I think nGhost and RevFE, and other "next-gen" frontends are far superior to RR, however, they are not as important yet.

I would have plugged some of your proggies... but I don't use any of them.
I guess my #3 would be a toss between GPS Gas (Or wtf ever you call that plugin these days ) and LinuxICE. I used to use the Gas proggy back when I used Road Runner. I decided against the vote for Road Runner however since it's now dead and Ride Runner is garbage imo. Sorry E, I like your proggies, but I can't vote on something I don't use on a semi-daily basis.

I'm not after votes for my proggies, hence the reason why I didn't vote for them.
I am not insecure enough to have to vote for them.
