We need to see your ride!
Hello Car PC Enthusiasts,
My name is Ed, and I'm an engineer for the Volkswagen automotive group (Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Seat, and Skoda). We've got a request for the MP3Car faithful...
We have some executives from Germany coming to the Bay Area in the middle of November to get a feel for the US in-car electronics market. They'll be driving all sorts of cars currently on sale in the States, but I wanted to let them talk to people who are living the future of in-car electronics right now. So, together with MP3Car, we're extending an invitation to you. We’re looking to choose 2-3 people to spend half a day or so talking to some executive level engineers and product planners from Volkswagen. And, (here’s the good part), you’ll be rewarded with a BoomzBox HD radio from MP3Car, as well as a hundred dollar gas card – not bad for a few hours! We’ll be choosing the appropriate candidates based on the quality of your in-car PC install, how well your system is integrated, and what types of applications you’re running. In order to enter you need to be able to be willing to drive to Palo Alto for half a day and talk to some German executives from Volkswagen on Monday, November 12th. If you’re interested, please respond with a post showing:
• Pictures of your install
• Tell us your motivations and future plans
• List out the current applications you're running
• A brief paragraph on why you would be a good representative of what the future holds for automotive electronics
After reviewing your posts, I’ll be in touch with you via PM to set up any other interviews or discussions so we can make our final decision. Thanks so much, and I look forward to seeing your rides!
Ed L.

Ill be back with all the information you need...This might work out perfect as I am located in the bay area and will soon be finishing my major carPC/hi-fi audio installation and interior overhaul. I already know you will be very impressed with my setup.
You can get a bit of info on the project here...

I'm no where near Palo Alto (nor are either of my Passats up to snuff with the current wares out there) but I'd just like to say that it's awesome that VW is looking into this stuff.

I am not from US, but from Europe - Slovenia. Even closer...
We are six friends (3 girls and 3 guys), connected together thru friendship and passion for cars and their modifications. So we got idea to give ourselves the title "Most Wanted Team". Each of us modificate his own car and we also help each other of course.
More about the team: http://www.mostwanted-team.com
Here is my project:

More info: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...l-project.html
And I also helped my friend with his 2006 VW PASSAT Variant:

More info: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...6k-beware.html
We are both running optimized Windows XP with Centrafuse for the frontend. GPS navigation, WLAN, Bluetooth, OBD and things like that are also not missing

Great guys; I'll let a few more get up here before I start to make some decisions... oh and by the way, if you have a car other than a VW PLEASE feel free to contribute! Its the usage of the in-car PC's I care about - we're not so brand blind over here

The only bad thing about this is that you have it scheduled for a Monday. Most people work during the weekdays, including myself, and cannot take a day off to show off a CarPC. I would be able to do it if it were during the weekend.

I know the Monday thing is a bummer, but thats the only time when our execs are in town. It is looking like it will be Monday at 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM though, which I hope can include more of you!

I'm in San Diego, so even with the late time, it's not possible unless I take the day off especially since traffic will be crazy.

Doesn't matter. They aren't only interested in Dubs. They're interested in the cool things some members of this forum have done to their vehicles.
