So i got rear ended last week and now my tranny is acting up. I took the insurance money and gonna fix the body myself and use the money for getting the tranny worked on. Gotta love High Clearance vehicles though the other car basically went under me just cracking my fiberglass tailgate a little bit.

Ill know more tomorrow after the shop drops the pan and looks around but i may not have a working vehicle for a few weeks

Ok well it looks like i am in for a new (used) transmission, i am not sure when i will be able to get it from the seller as its still in his rolled Cherokee. So until i get it i wont know if i will be able to make it or not.

Got to love cars when they start to beak!

I got one of my VW buddies to help install it but i might put a call out for help, I'm gonna call the seller again and see if we can pull it this weekend. Right now i am just driving the current trans to its death i think, AAA if needed

. He is out past redlands so a little bit of a trek, but for $200 for a complete transmission I cant complain.

It was just the timing of it all that was inconvenient, started slipping when we where in Chicago, IL but it made it back. The transmissions are pretty bullet proof same ones as in the 4runners though they are called AW4 in jeeps, they are 40-30LE in toyotas.

not familar with that trans from toyota, all the ones i know of are 340x. if your driving past redlands to get it, you could stop by my place. we could even do the swap here if you want, i have all the necessary tools.

im out guys, sorry. have a rear axle thats leaking ALOT, front cv's popping, a suspension clunk and 15 mpg... have fun guys.
