I can't make the July meet but would be interested in attending in August. I just finished the install and need some help with tuning the Alpine H701. Anyone going to the Chicago meets ever mess with one of these?
Cheers!

Used to have one myself. I've got measuring equipment as well if you want to really dial it in. If you remind me I'll bring it with.

I will be in the Chicago burbs next week with the car. Wednesday having it detailed inside and out for Muscle Mustange and Fast Fords to do a Feature on it during the NMRA/NMCA races at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet. I'll be in West Zurich Tues Night and Wednesday for the detail, and then Wed nite heading to Joliet.
Otherwise I can wait till the August meet.
Here is the car:
Car was starting to go too fast so I added Amps as ballast in the trunk! LOL
Cheers!
John

Hey, you got something sticking out of your hood. Can you even hear anything over that motor? :P Looks like fun.
Hmm, not to sure what's going on next week, I'm located about halfway between between Lake Zurich and Joliet, but a little west. Might have to wait until August unless there is a convenient way to meet up. What's the audio system setup consist of?
Speakers, locations, power etc...

I can wait, no problem. It will give me time to experiment with the C701 and H701 controls to see how I can get it tuned. Right now I'm trying to understand the H701. It has both Parametric and Graphic equilizers and I don't know if both are active at the same time or not. I guess I need an H701 for Dummies book.
It just seems like I should get some bass (not a lot, but some) from the rear speakers and it is acting like it just isn't there. Not like the old days with a simple 7 slider EQ under the dash I guess. haha.
The car has 6x8 Infinities in the package tray, JL Audio components up front, 6" in door and 1" dome higher up, 10" Type-R Alpine sub in trunk, 4x150 Alpine amp for inside, 1.1100 Alpine amp for sub, Apline C701 and H701 media manager with optical to CarPC, 7" Lilliput in dash.

Well it seems you are not even using the H701 to it's fullest, but if you are trying to use it for 5.1 then it's ok.
It's either parametric or graphic but not both. It has individual EQ's per channel.
My guess is that it is playing everything in pro logic mode, so the rears will not be full range, instead they are only surroudn speakers. There is a way to put it into 2 channel mode, but I don't remember exactly off the top of my head.

Damn, and I already parked the ESC-V for more upgrades and was going to bring up the Mustang. Guess I'll button it back up take the rest of the wires off and gas it up.
