Im talking about remote desktop connection. Accessing your frontend from your phone to control the different features of your carputer. I think Gizmo is using this, some type of VNC connection.
I did have a data connection in my car until I got a smart phone. Turns out the smarter the phone the harder it is to tether to a computer. Besides the weather and traffic features in RR dont work right now unless you install a hack which disables video features. I am still waiting for an email plugin. I know someone was working on one but Its not done yet.

28th sounds good to me. As luck would have it, the weekend of the 21st I'll be in Indy...
And btw, got the truck running and almost on the road... all my parts for the carpc are in, so as soon as she is rolling right, I can begin getting the pc ready.
If anyone wants to swing over sometime and help me decide on final mounting, just shoot me a pm or give me a call... help is always appreciated, and having a pal to hang out with is always a plus

No problem Aron, I really really appreciate the inspiration and support of the Chicago guys. I really didn't expect anyone to make the trek for a St Louis meet.

And your opinion means more when you make it to a meet.

29 Jun in Chicago - I can definitely make that! And I should have some interesting changes made to the Caddy (mostly non-PC related)

For some reason I thought the STL meet was saturday the 31st of May, even though it cleary states the 28th of June. It must be something with STL getting the dates mixed up. I might be able to make it after all.

Epic burn! I demand we settle this like gentlemen, I challenge you to fisticuffs!
I will definitely be at this one though. That weekend is marked out on the calendar and I've even set aside a small fortune to cover gas for the trip Here's to hoping it drops a little bit in price between now and then!
Chicago is probably a bit of a stretch though. I'll mull over it though!

Wait a minute, according to the rules of Cantebury, if you demand satisfaction then I get to chose the weapons - and I pick swashbuckling with noodle floaties (I'll bring the weapons and you pick which one you want)
I guess the entertainment for the meet has been decided!

Speaking of which, I need to get on the ball and set a location. Anyone have any new suggestions? I won't embarrass myself this time by trying to cook, so it's BYOEverything this time around.

If you decide not to drive, you can always ride up with me.

Oi! Nothing quite like publicly humiliating yourself when first meeting a new group of people Noodle floatie swashbuckling it is then! No clue on locations, the only places around St Louis I know are the airport and a few bars.
Carpooling sounds good. But half the fun of a meet is showing off your work! Maybe I can just draft you the entire trip and save some gas money that way...
