The Florida Meets Thread

Not to hijack this thread (Any further at least ) I started a work log here.

Looks like this will be the car I have owned for the shortest amount of time A guy in Port St. Lucie is selling 2 Fiero's. (He refuses to sell one at a time for some reason) I want the 86 GT, and found someone else from Sarasota who wants the 88GT, so we are going to split the cost in half and both get what we want

So if anyone is interested, I will have a 85' 6cyl Fiero for sale here pretty soon hahah

I personally like the body style on the GT's better. Some call me crazy, as the "Notchies" as they are called have a big following.

I got to thinking, (dangerous I know!) After I am on the Fiero forums for a while, and get to know some of them, I was gonna mention the Florida Meets to them.

I first want to get the PC installed and my Fiero on the road at least before I do. It could bring out some extra people to the meets There are a lot of Fiero forum members in Florida, around 300 or so.

I am going but I am not sure. Turns out I have a major ticket issue from Monroe County. If I get pulled over, I go to jail. I didn't find out till a week ago. I am going to try to take care of it in the middle of June. If I do fix this, then I am going.

HAHAHAHAHHA, that sounds like a plan. Its funny though because this was a ticket from 2005. I had forgotten about it because when I got it I was really really really high. I dont even remember signing it. It only took them 4 years to figure out that I didnt pay it.

Yes, I have made an agreement to take care of the dumb ticket with them, but it will still fall after the meet. Plus my car is ripped apart so bad now. I decided that I wanted to run all the cables for the rear professionally. Its amazing how much better it looks and easier to find and organize. I still have speaker wire and 5 USB cables to run. My car literally has no interior, people really think my car was robbed now, lol.

That will not be a problem at all! I had the fuel pump replaced today, turned the key and it fired right up! BUT and I do mean B U T.....

The engine is shot! there is a knock.... a knock bad enough that I didnt want to get anywhere even close to the engine! The mechanic said it sounds like a busted rod

This mean's either
a) rebuilding this engine
b) getting another 2.8L v6, or
c) getting a 4.9L Cadillac engine....

I am in the process of weighing all of the options now...... fun fun fun...

I think rebuilding would be fun...... Now if you do decide to get a new engine instead, I would take MPG into effect. You don't want to build yourself a gas guzzler (the 4.9L). I get about 11-13 MPG in mine, although I do like the power. Im trying to get my hands on the reprogrammer for my truck so I can add more HP, Torque, smoother transmission shifts and best of all bring my MPG up to 16-17 MPG.

A buddy of mine (he does my Cadillac tuning) has a Northstar in his and its a rocket! (12 sec 1/4 mile) Still he wants more - adding centrifugal supercharger this summer.
