thanks Lok, this will help us have more meets in more areas of Florida.

Also, I live in Fort Myers so every meet is out in the middle of nowhere for me. Yes Miami too is in the middle of nowhere

We had a meet in Labelle a while ago and had a really good turn out because people from Tampa and Miami only had to drive "halfway" to the meet.

Yea Lok is right this is in the middle of nowhere for Florida.
If you consider the tampa area then yes its ok but all side roads.

It would be alot easier off a major highway like i-4 or the turnpike.

Orlando is called central florida for a reason. We have all the hotels, attractions, and theme parks so there is alot to do.

I appreciate you getting this one organized but orlando is better for a florida meet and miami is not in the middle of nowhere its just far for all except the people in dade county.

Orlando has been sort of a sore topic for a while now

What happened, is around 15 people, that lived in Orlando, were wanting a meet in Orlando. So one was set... around 2 people from Orlando showed up.

Other meets were set in other locations, and in every one of the threads, everyone from Orlando was complaining that it was too far to drive.

So after another 2 meets, Another meet was organized for Orlando. Around 8 people showed up for the meet. 2 from Miami, 1 from Ft. Lauderdale, 3 from Tampa, One from Sarasota, and only one person from Orlando.

3 of the people that were asking for the meet, actually lived within 4 miles of the location to top it off

This has been 5 or so meets ago, so maybe it is time again for another Orlando meet. Possibly the one after this one. Just depends on what everyone wants.

As for theme parks and such, that is usually not on the agenda for a CarPC meet. For the most part it is a Sunday get away for the meet, and back to work on Monday for most.

The key is for someone in the Orlando area to scout out and find a nice park, where the cars can preferably be parked in the shade, within close range of a wings place or sandwich shop to grab something to eat after the meet.

I guess john has a point, if we orlando folk want a meet in orlando then the least we could do is show for it. I have yet to go to any meets but I would like to be there for the next one. I am still working on getting my prototype together and if it is ready, you guys can definitely count on seeing it at the 31st meet, otherwise I may wait till the next one which will hopefully be closer to home. The other thing we may be able to do if we have it in orlando is have the meet at my work site. There's plenty of parking we can even use the garage in the back and we don't have to worry about noise complaints or anything as I own the place. There is a mall across the street with plenty of places to eat (Hooters for you wing lovers

Now that is the true definition of not having to drive far to a meet! LOL

Just kidding! (I just had to quote and comment on that though!) That is a generous offer for sure. I know we usually try to have the meets in a shaded area of a park where those that bring dogs and kids can have some grass to run around in. We had 3 dogs at the last meet. In the past we have had many of the meets in parking lots and such, that just does not work well with the asphalt and the Florida sun!

It may be a good idea though, if we want to do an install or something at a future meet if the need arises. It really just depends on what the majority think for the most part.

Xenarc 700TSV with all the cables. You can even try it out at the meet since its coming out of my car. I planning to upgrade. Nothing wrong with it except it will be in a 700TS case but it is a 700TSV.
