I'm going to be there. I need to see other ppl's setups before deciding exactly what to do. I've got a Mitsu 3000GT VR4. It's needs maintenance, but I'll drive it there so ppl can see what I want to do. I really hope there will be more than just you Giz . Even so, looking forward to meeting you.

Even if it is Finite, it will run much faster to boot up. In my setup, I'm hoping to run the whole system off of RAM, and just let it sleep (hibernating after a preset number of hours). this should minimize the writes. Media can still be read from the SSD indefinitely.

man I wish I was back up there for those meets.
you can scratch my last setup. dual core atom blows for boot times. I sent it back to newegg and got a Zotac mini-itx socket 775 board and a Celeron 1.8Ghz Conroe-L based CPU. Cost was the same for that as it was the severely underpowered dual atom. Temps are the same too (which was my only concern in the houston heat). Board was on sale for $49, CPU was on sale for $39.
Since the Zotac board only has a PCI-Express expansion slot...I ordered a PCE-E riser and an Asus Xonar for audio.
surgery will begin this weekend so I'll let ya know how the zotac board fairs for boot-times. If it's better than my d201...It's going in my car...if not...it'll go in my wife's van
@bluespire - I LOVED those 3000GT's. Sweet lookin' cars....hard to find nowadays though. Kinda like the old Pontiac Fiero's - ... I like those too.

someone mentioned one of these to me for a sound card. Looks good and costs 2/3 the cost of a xonar.

It's USB too, and ASIO complient.

Well I'm here in the Caddy, all by myself as expected. Got sprinkled on by a brief rain shower on the way over, but its nice now (should have washed this beast) Guess I'll wait till 3 then start tearing my dash apart (mod hell is never done).

As I said earlier, its expected. It usually takes STL folks two or three meets to realize I'm not going away, that I will talk about them not coming out, oh and did I say the weather has to be perfect, too. Speaking of weather, it just started raining.

it's pouring here in Houston. I just drove down my street earlier in my Maxima...water was almost up to the headlights. I walked out to take a picture, and one of the neighbors was kayaking up and down the road.
Like I said...you know I'd be there if I were still up there
Crazy no one in STL shows up though. The first couple meets were awesome.

Giz, I'm so sorry I could not make it out. I work from 11pm to 7am and thought I could get just enough sleep to make it out today. Unfortunately, not even my wife could stir me until 3pm. Perhaps there is sometime other than a meet we can get together. I really need to "see" someone's setup.

Yeah good practice... let's just hope its warm. I can deal with rain and I can deal with cold, but together I get real grouchy!

I've heard Houston suburbs don't have street sewers - makes no sense to me. Be grateful it not a hurricane.
Thanks for the complement, I know it'll get better as the weather warms up.

Don't sweat it KiaTuner showed up and he and I talked for a couple hours. Just be forewarned, there are consequences for missing more than two in a row (see 2008 thread).

I agree, the Chicago meet sets the standard. DieHard MP3Car members - come rain or shine, hot or cold, even when its snowing on the grille. And women, too.
Plenty of swag left. See ya tomorrow.
