New England Meet: May 2009

After the recent success we had getting a few people together we are going to try another one, New England residents!

2:00 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2009 in Natick, Massachusetts

Probable location is the Jordan's Furniture here- for address.

Right next to Framingham really, I guess.

Rain date would either be Sunday the 17th or the following weekend- post your preferences.

Not making any promises yet, but it's possible we may have a "lot prize" drawn at random for one lucky attendee. (Don't get too excited- it won't be a new Ferrari or anything!)

Start making plans, people!

But guys, don't get your hopes up, I don't have no carputer. I am sort of carputer veteran thinking about my next project now that I have a new car. Doug, I have same car as you now by the way.

I notice there are some state and national parks in the same general area. Does anyone know if the parking lots for one of the parks would work well for a meeting? I just worry that over time Jordans may kick us out of their lot. It works well enough for now though. Just trying to think ahead.

Nice, man! Which year did you get?
A lot of folks complain about the 08 being weak, what with the 09 getting an extra 40hp.
What annoys ME is that they upgraded the suspension while I had to do mine myself.

As for actually HAVING a CarPC- mine was still in pieces last year, and running off an inverter when last I saw you, Vlad.
No worries.

Back on topic:

Finding alternate locations is good, and someplace a bit more pleasant than the middle of a store parking lot would be good anyway.
But I don't really know that area too well myself.
See what you can find out, man.

As for May, I think we are ok at Jordan's again.
We just need to get more people to show up.

So far:

Doug, there are a lot of folks who I wouldn't call nice words some naive people saying that '08 is a failure of Subaru becuase of lower hose power. I can upgrade my WRX easy to the hp of '09. The main problem with newer subarus isn't that. My problem is the fact that my car is already rusting out. I will show you. Additionally there are other mechanical issues. I concluded that my '06 car was much much better quality than '08.

That does look pretty good- restrooms, other stuff around and something besides traffic for scenery.
Maybe even chairs and tables.

Could be good for the next one.
Get info and we'll see how folks feel about spending the money to get in.

Alright finally got a hold of someone at the park.

Parking is at the Boat Ramp.

They might have 1 bathroom open at the boat ramp by that weekend. But according to the person she asked, they are open now on the weekends, but they aren't sure because they aren't there on the weekends.

Hours are dusk till dawn.

Don't need to reserve tables. First come, first serve basis. Charcoal grill on site, or bring your own.

Admission is FREE!

Sounds good, man.
If I can I will swing down at some point to see just how much parking there is and so on.

For now, what do we all think- stick with Jordan's for the next one or head to the park ViViper1 found?

And keep trying to drag other people into this too, folks!
The more the merrier.

I put you down on the list.
No matter if you have the rig running or even installed, man.
Never know, you might get a few ideas or some help at the meet too.
(Not promising, mind you!)

40 parking spaces sounds like it might be enough....
