Yes, I'd say we should.
I don't think I have anything going on for the month so I am open to any weekend.
And I'm bringing my MAPP gas torch next time so there are no grill starting issues.

How about tentatively making it at cochituate state park near the boat ramp on the 27th just to get things started. Anyone have a problem with that? Are we sticking with 2pm or were we going to try an hour or so earlier?

Can't wait guys, I hope to have the machine working again by then. I am going to have my brother help me run a distro block to my battery and use my m3-atx power the unit. I think I will run her headless until I can make some kind of case for the LCD. Too much risk of damage in the cardboard box. I will also bring a batch of Old Timey Lee's Old Timey Chili to accompany burgs and dogs. I can also bring a propane stove to keep things hot.

A 1pm start is fine by me, and starting right AT the park means no time wasted hanging out in Jordan's parking lot.
And we have plenty of time to set the date and figure out food and so on.
I don't have any sort of "specialty" as far as cooking- (I am better at eating) - so I can just take care of bring some stuff like burgers, dogs and a cooler full of ice.

I thought I'd make a list of things I think we will need. I've put names down on things based on what was said. If you want any changes let me know and I'll edit the post.
Here are the list of items that will be needed for the BBQ:
a) Beverage – soda, water or whatever…ice and icebox to keep drinks cool.
rogerduggans - icebox
b) Meat: burgers, hotdogs
rogerdugans
c) burger/hotdog buns to go along with meat
d) Salads or similar foodstuff
e) other food you wanna bring to share with us...like your home cooked food...
lburton - chilli
f) Desserts
tdb30_ a pie or two (any preferences)
g) Charcoal/woodchips...liquid burner....... matches, prongs, skewers,
h) aluminium foil/tray for cooking,
i) Plates, Cups, Fork, Knife, Spoon...paper towels/napkins....
j) Condiments.....salt pepper ketchup mayonnaise mustard
k) Snacks
tdb30_ - Chips
Am I going overboard with this?

Grr, I probably won't be able to make this one either. I'm visiting portugal the end of the month and this is the busiest month of my life as far as schooling goes. I'll have to see what july brings. I really want to go to one of these meets some time...

Nah, just doing a good job with advance planning, man.
First time we've tried that.....though it has been talked about before.
And since you started it this time, you are stuck with it. (Which is ok as you are doing a fine job so far.)
One suggestion:
Edit the first post with the location and tentative time and date, for easy access.
And maybe a note that comments on the date should be made and when the plan will no longer be considered tentative.
I'll take a guess at burger/dog count once we get close and have a good idea how many folks may show.

I am down 99%. 1% chance of me being sent to Mountain View or Detroit but that's _very_ unlikely.
I can bring the following:
i) Plates, Cups, Fork, Knife, Spoon...paper towels/napkins.
a) Beverage – soda, water or whatever…ice and icebox to keep drinks cool.
I won asus eee pc on ebay, so I am finally getting there back up to speed with carputer.

Congrats on getting the tripleE, Vlad.
I have come to the conclusion that 90% of what I do with a (non-server) computer can be done on a netbook- anything "better" is just more expensive and has less battery life.
And a note on things I am bringing:
I have all kinds of assorted parts sitting around collecting dust.
Nothing fandamntastic like a quad core cpu, of course, but 3.5 drives, fans, cat5, power bricks and so on.
If you have any requests- well, I'd rather see stuff get use than collect dust here.
Again, the stuff is not "bleeding edge" but it works (as a rule- may be a few dead soldiers in the piles!) and if anyone could use parts for a testing machine, backup or whatever: let me know and if I have it I will bring it.

Yeah, my goal with this carputer ver. 2.0 will be make it as mobile as possible. So I guess I'll still wire proper power and some usb sockets. Then I'll probably have custom made net book mount.
Some pics:
And this is my former license plate for linux enthusiasts to appreciate

You don't need anything to be done. You can come even if you have nothing.
