I have never been called so many names. Rob had some guy speaking named Cabe Spies on the announcment. I was refered to as Gabe by every speaker and now we have Cape? I am the master of disguise......who was really at the meet.......you may never know.

First Meet Impressions

This was the first meet I attended and I had a great time. I did not go to the morning sessions but made the car show. I gained some good knowledge on car computing and a starting point for my own setup. I would have liked to see some vendors there with products for sale and even an mp3car table with the latest and greatest. I did not take the office tour so I don't know if that happened later in the day. I will say I came down from Philly with a pocket full of $$ ready to make some purchases and was a little disappointed. Possibly for the next meet that could be a consideration. Thanks!

I must agree with the majority of the comments about the speaker series - I was impressed! I particularly appreciated presentations on future possibilities. I had expected to hear stuff about programs/hardware that we've already beaten to death on the forums, but what I got was far from it. Like Sonicxtacy said, I still got "so much to learn".

Another idea I had while there was a survey asking about what might the next big tech innovation for CarPCs, and then write them all on a write board and have an open discussion to rank the responses. This could fuel innovation in the forum as well as the MP3Car store. It could also be used as the first input for what presentations to try to get for the next meet.

My only complaint (and I use that term loosely with tongue in cheek), is I wish, as a final briefing, we could have proceeded to the vehicles and everyone get 5 minutes to introduce themselves in a more structured manner. That way, everyone is introduced to everyone else (this is kinda what we do at the Chicago Meets). Stuff like Lok not knowing Sonicxtacy was running a Fusion Brain could have been avoided. I would suggest folks with cars would go first, then folks who didn't bring cars would introduce themselves for a minute or two. This would not be a full presentation about their carpc's but an introduction with info like where from, forum username and how long a member, background info like how they got started in the hobby, profession, anecdotes, and anything they think is special about their install, DONE, NEXT.

Sprechen sie deutsche? (Inside joke for Rob, Heather and Cabe). Heading home tomorrow!

Already done over there gizmo? Haha. I do agree with all he said though, especially about having maybe a bit more formal flow to carpc introductions and the like.

A big shout out from Centrafuse goes to the Mp3Car team for putting this all together. Thanks everyone at Mp3Car for organizing this awesome event!

Also, the speaker series was fantastic. I know I really learned a lot, especially the car audio tips from Mike Miller, and Windows embedded background from Silvio. Cabe's interview was also quite entertaining.

It was great seeing everyones' rides and some pretty sick installs. I'm glad the turnout was so good, especially given the "plan B" rain event, and really glad people from afar were able to make it too.

It was great to meet everyone!

Thanks again to Rob, Heather and team for successful event!
