Heh we can always do a bigger one It seems its going to be about 6-8 cars.. With only one having a computer, lol.. Should be fun all the same tho. Meet up, check out cars (engines and sound and etc) and then some of us are going back to one of my friends shops to work on my car and his car He has a 67 Mustang that is being restored, and my car is getting a custom fiberglass trunk

orangewhip, ejasons, what day would work for you guys?

I am pretty sure that I can make it (75-80% sure anyway). Where abouts are people meeting at? Need an address or specifics as to where. What time is it set for? Takes about 3-1/2 hours from Seattle so don’t make it too early.
Who all is going and what do they have for puters/cars etc.?
Any other info I should know?
Still interested in a Seattle meet maybe early next year,
Gary

We aren't sure where we want to meet yet, I'll have that tonight. I think I am the only one with a computer per say, but the rest of the people have either sound systems or worked cars. Two of them have jack, but they are along because they help me with my installs Its just for fun any do show off what we can do, so yeah. Bring anyone you want to, we need more people.

I'm going to ask around on VW Vortex if anyone there wants to come

Well, it's Tuesday and still no meeting place.

Will the people who are going please leave a post. If it just 2 or 3 people I don't think it will be worth a 3-hour drive.

As for the location, make it easily accessible from I-5. As to time how about 1 PM.

Hope it doesn't rain.... at least too hard!
Gary

Location, Location, Location

I am from Seattle and would really like to get together with some other car-puter enthusiasts and compare notes. I would like to attend the Portland meet, but am concerned by the lack of a firm location or attendance. I am think a garage or some location where the cars are under cover with good lighting would be best. I would prefer someplace reasonably close to I-5, but I have GPS, so finding someplace a little out of the way wouldn't be too bad.

Can we get a show of hands as to who is planning on attending and some information on their systems? You can see mine at http://www.seattlewireless.net/index.cgi/CarPuter

I decided to wait till 8 PM Friday Dec 19th to see of anyone is going to Portland for the meet. At this point, I have opened Saturday up so I am free to go, if others verify they are attending.

I have emailed back and forth with, Dan Marsh also in Seattle, and he's interested in getting together in Seattle if Portland falls through. I am not in Seattle this weekend so cannot meet there this weekend. I was thinking about Jan. 10th as a date. About 1PM. I'm sure we can find a parking garage that is covered that we can meet at (or anywhere there is cover??). I'm sure it will rain. It is Seattle.

Gary

Me and a couple friends are both building puters...One in my 91 Saleen rip off, and one in his 95 Maxima. Another buddy is putting one in his 01 Expedition. Me and my Maxima buddy could make the meet...just say when and where. We are in Gresham, very short drive to anywhere on I5

Their Nissan club meets in the parking lot of a closed down Home Base off HWY 217 in Beaverton...close to I5, really good location for lots of cars and just hanging out and not being bothered.

Hey, if you want to hook up, hit me up on AIM or email, and we can hook up this weekend.

Well, it sounds like we have enough interest in the Portland meet to make it a go. We really need to get a location and time hammered out NOW, though. I would suggest we find someplace covered with good lighting where we can park multiple cars. It would be nice to have access to a fair sized white/blackboard as I am sure there will be lots of interest in diagramming systems and whatnot. It would also be good if the place is easy to find, near I-5 and had food nearby.

As far as time goes, I would suggest around 1 pm, as we have multiple people driving down from Seattle and it would be good to grab something to eat before the meet.

gospeed.racer, could you tell us more about this place in Beaverton?

It is right off the hwy 217 at the Canyon rd exit. Go east to the first light, turn left and its right there behind the gas station. Nobody has ever harrased us, and its close to the good eatings of Beaverton. It is not however covered, its just a big ol parking lot. Great for large meets, but we might need more of a pizza-joint-back-room type of place for the few of us that will probably make it.

For those of us not familiar with Hwy 217, go towards the beach on hwy 26, and its not but a few miles from where I-5 goes by 26 west. Maybe 10-15 from the junction.

Oh yea...I have messenger, but no Aol. if you have a messenger handle, lemme know, otherwise i will try to fire up the old Trillian and see if we can talk that way.

Okay, I can be there. Give me more directions to how to get there, or just hit me up on AIM/etc (Trillian all the way!). Also, what time do we want to hook up? 5pm? I am tied up until 1-2pm and t hen there is a VW shop that is having a sale and the club I'm in is going out there so I thought I'd come along too.. How would 5pm work for you all?

And is the place lit?

5 PM is NUTS!

5 pm is way too late for those of us coming from Seattle. 1pm is the latest I think we should start. Also, given how early it gets dark, we won't be able to see anything if we start at five. I am fine with the hardware store parking lot, provided rain isn't in the forecast. Does anyone have a forecast for portland?

I checked NOAA for the weather and it states rain is "likely".

Does anyone know a covered spot? Or another suggestion.

1PM is a good time.
