I am down for the Great Mall. It's only about 45min-1hour away from where i live. It is very central.

I hear ya about the BBQ and the First meet. Good idea to keep it simple(unless someone is willing to orchistrate the whole thing).

My question is how are we all going to meet eachother in the great mall parking lot, like how are we going to know who is who in the greatmall parking lot? It's not like a car meet where your looking for all of the same type of cars together (i.e. honda civics, or acura integra's). I don't want to come up to a bunch of strangers and be like "so let me see your carputer" and get jumped or something(okay i am exagerating a bit but you get my point).

Also Saturday should be very busy at the mall.

I think a good place to meet would be a parking lot of some busines building or industrial building. None come to mind but it would be perfect becasue only us will be there (unless there is some hardcore saturday working people) and it would be easy to find eachother. The only thing we would have to worry about is security. Heck an open lot would be fine too.

Keep posting guys lets get this figured out

I am open to other ideas as well.

This is what will happen.

1 - we will meet at the great mall parking lot infront of...lets say Dave and Busters.

2 - it will be on a saturday around noon so there's plenty of light and time to hang out

3 - after checking out systems we can head on over to dave n busters for some drinks and food

4 - if we get enough ppl, i'll reserve a room or large table for just mp3car ppl

It will most likely not be this saturday or the next, but the one after...Saturday March 13th at 1pm. That should give ppl enough time to get this message.

I like the BBQ idea, but one-two ppl will end up doing all of the work, and it really wouldn't fit a car showing sorta atmosphere. If this meet goes well, we'll do something like a bbq next.

That will be our plan.

Suggestions? Comments?

we'll get kicked out of the great mall by security, we used to have celica meets there and they never lasted that long due to getting harassed...

SAN LEANDRO MARINA!!!

there's parking, no cops, bbq grills, grassy area, etc

The last thing is want is to be kicked out by security. but i also don't want to have to drive all the way to San Leandro. Any Comprimise??

i don't know of any other places that are that far south, but i might not show up if it's at d&b since i have no desire to go to a meet that might not last longer than 30 min

How many people were at this meet that got busted by mall security and what were they doing? I think as long as we mind our own business and don't bother anyone the mall security can't really kick us off. I could see the mall getting upset if we are playing our steros really loud and there are tons of people there, but if the numbers are low on a Saturday they might not even notice us... Anyway, give some info on what happened at that meet that got canceled and then we can figure out where to go from there.

Yea that is a good question, No need to get excited. I am sure that the security wouldn't even notice us if we mind our own business.

Alternitvly we could meet at "Pizza and Pipes". It has a decent size parking lot, it is central (mountain view area i will have to get the exact address) and it has good food fast service and can acoomidate gatherings such as these. Plus most people like pizza

we shouldn't meet at great mall. there's a small park by great mall we should meet and greet there. then we all drive to great mall (or whatever), and go inside to hang out or something. hows it sound?

there were about 20 of us, and we were just hanging out by our cars....
there's 1 particular security person that just sucks... we've also tried contacting great mall to get it ok'd beforehand, but they were of no help

we got kicked out after spending about 600 at d&b between all of us (if not more)

NUIpIsqo where is this park you are talking about? Could you post some directions to it? If it's got decent parking and is close to the Great Mall it sounds like a good place to start the meet. While there we can check out each others systems and such then we can drive to the great mall and grab some food to eat.
