Any saturday really is fine with me I just need to know ahead of time so I can get off work and schedule a trip to ATL. I'm down with the Varsity, love their food.

Varsity or Norther is good for me. Any Saturday is as good as any other, it's pot luck if I can make it or not but would really like to see what you Girls & guys are doing.

I am open on the location...but I will be on vacation (finally) the 24-31 of July. The Varsity sounds cool...I've only been there one time, Atl location. As for my carputer goes, I have all the computer stuff, I'm still working on getting a lilliput t/s, and am undecided on power source. I'm looking forward to meeting everybody and seeing their setups.

i'd like to avoid the varsity if possible ... hey, i've lived here for 6 years and have *never* eaten at varsity. some people call it crazy, i call it bragging rights.

seriously tho i'll meet where ever as long as it's in town or on the northside.

I'd be up for the July as well.

I run a car club, and we found it quite difficult to get people to meet up on Saturday nights - Anyone open to a Sunday?

Ugh - please not Varsity. Last time I ate there, I was sick for three days.

If the general consensus is to meet there, I'd rather meet the people rather than care for the food. Keep me posted.

I'm doing a co-op internship this summer in North Carolina. I won't be back in ATL until GT classes start back on Aug 14. I probably won't be able to make it to a June/July meet, but we'll see.

I just found this thread today... I live in Georgia and i am a student at georgia tech but im living about an hour south of atl. during the summer (griffin). Its interesting that there are a bunch of people in the area doing this and meeting up. My carputer is in the early stages and i will be using a m10000 or m9000 via epia, and a datalux touchscreen. I hope to finish it by mid july. Vehicle is a 74 camaro, so i will be combining retro with new tech, which i think is cool. ill have to keep up with this forum from now on since all you guys are in the area.

It's possible. I'll have to chat it up on our forums to see general interest. I've spoken plenty about my desired project, (and shown the parts box as well), but many just don't get it.


I'm sure finished projects will spark some interest, and perhaps open opportunites to meet fibreglas people.

Most of the group meets Thursday nights at various locations around the metro area, with at least one week meeting @ Varsity downtown. Not my favourite venue, but we get all makes and models out there, so you won't stick out like a sore thumb in a non-VW car.

Lemme see what I can drum up.

the way things have been going lately, maybe we could hold the meet at the Fulton County jail. maybe we could shoot a rap video while we're there.

i might be up for a meet, but it would have to be a better location. or i guess we could have it at the Varsity so we can score some crack after the meet.

i don't have my carPC setup yet, but i'll bring my boombox.

The only reason i'm cool with the Varsity as a meeting spot is I've seen plenty of car/bike groups meeting there before, I dig the food(I'm atlantan to the core) and it's centralized. That said I'm up for meeting anywhere(within reason) so people that are saying no to the varsity think up something better and quick because we need to do this and stop procrastinating. My .02.

I agree. I think most people are "OK" with the Varsity. It's a compromise. Unless, like you said, someone comes up woth an acceptable alternative quick.

Personally, the July 24th date is really the only one I can make. Sooooo.
