Next meet, we should do Floyd Bennett Field. Lots of room and easy to get to. A bit closer to the NJ/PA/MD guys also. Was there today, hanging out with the kids watching the RC Cars racing and RC Jets as well as the Classic Car Show. Here's a pic I took today. Ordering my mobo and xenarc soon so hopefully should have something by the next meet.

My struts broke in my STi, my CarPC DVD-ROM never came till monday so my install didn't want to boot that day. I didn't feel like going with a new car with so many problems.

Next time when everything isn't broke.

yeah, it's probably 30-40 minutes closer coming from maryland. if theres traffic on the belt/southern state, it could be even an hour or more closer. hope to see you at the next one kandyman.

here's an overview shot of floyd bennett. as you can see, there's tons of room to do whatever. lots of people do meets/events there.

i'm hoping to have most of it done by the next meet samc...that is if the wife doesn't drain the carputer-fund with her ebay purchases

That looks like a nice spot.
Do we need a permit or anything to meet there? That place looks like a airport or some other recreational facitlity that may need one

For large events, I'm sure you'd need to arrange it with the park service (which is whom I believe runs the field). For a simple meet, nah, no permit needed. It's an old airfield/base (hence the runways) but doesn't see too much traffic these days. Once in a while a plane will come and go but it's very very rare.
