Hi guys and girls,
Don't know how I didn't find this thread before.
I'm in country Victoria and built my basic carpooter from mostly bits posted from US. Second hand Viewpad 1000 touchscreen tablet with souped up ram (380mb woo hoo) and 80gb HD. usb to optical sony adapter, usually used for minidisc players, feeds an Audiobahn add51t surround sound decoder, feeds two 2x150W (no centre channel) and an 800w class D sub amp.
It lives in a 1989 nissan GTR, and interfaces with the aftermarket full engine management computer (apexi powerFC).
It should be 802.11b but it is ye olde pooter and a windows XP driver does not exist for the gemtek mini PCI wireless card. I'd update it with an a,b,g card and plug a gps antenna into the compact flash slot but I'm leaving for Seppo land in a month so I'll be buying an old lexus sedan and starting again anyway.
I thoroughly recommend the little touch screens even if they are a bit underpowered processor and video wise. Having a dock that you can plug DC and all other peripherals into, on board power supply and battery life of over 5 hours makes things easy. Being able to take it out of the car is good too. Like a removable faceplate on a car cd player only more so.
Best found on ebay, as long as you can talk the vendor into posting it to oz. just watch out for dodgy bastids like the bloke who didn't send me two spare docks that I was going to rip apart and play with.

Hi all,
I am currently putting in a PC into my 95 Pajero linking up to a xenarc 700IDT. I am also placing in a xbox in the back for the kids, but all screen have the option to see either the computer or the xbox.
I also have a reverse camera plugged into the xenarc.

There are plenty of people around. Ususally when people get their setup running they don't spend a lot of time here.

Hey blokes,
I'm in the procees of getting my caprpc into my '06 Impreza hatch on the Gold Coast. All the hardware is in (from mp3car.com store, ebay, itwarehouse), all mounted in my custom aluminium box and ready to be mounted in dash behind my touchscreen. Just working on the software side of things at the moment and then fabbing the screen into the dash.
I do need a slot load dvd drive though. Who's got one for me ?
I'm looking to use Media Impact with the stripped OS I'm running (thanks to blk02si). At the moment I'm getting a 20 second boot from power on to music.
System:
Epia m10k
512mb ddr
m2-atx
bu-353 gps mouse
D-link usb wifi
7" Lilliput widescreen TS
80gb Hdd
Soundblaster Audiy Pci sound
Custom aluminium enclosure
I've been meaning to pull my finger out and start my worklog. I've got all the picures and what not from laong the way, but I just can;t be bothered with the words at the moment.
