The meet was really great. Special thanks to the son bros and hae mi for hosting!! I had a good time meeting everyone and checkin out everybody else's setups. Seeing the creativity behind all the different installs was really cool.

I even got a good car wash out of it

Damn... I should've stayed longer. I still ended up arriving 5min late to my tutor. And that was me doing "late for work" style driving

Definately a lot of fun, and another thanks to the folks that hosted it. Their project car was pretty dang tight, I've never seen one with a 'Lilliput' banner on the side next to Alpine, etc.

it's like a shopping list for theives.... heh. good meat, good meet, good meeting you people. I was apprehensive at first thinking there couldn't possibly be a worse neighborhood to show off expensive car stuff, but it turned out to be good.

yea that's my alti in the photos, does someone have more of those, i could host all the meet photos on my website, just pm me and we can set it up.

Thank you to Son's Auto for hosting it, they had 2 great nissans to show off. And what they lacked in fluency, they made up with enthusiasm. We could have used more room next time. Perhaps a night meet at the same local would clear up the parking lot some more for us?

How long did everyone end up staying?

This meet was definitely a success despite the general lack of space. Autocom was extremely gracious to let us use their shop and to supply food and drinks for everyone. Thanks a million, you guys rock!

There were numerous clean installs -- much more than what I saw at the Glendale (Fry's) meet a few months back. Matrix and Alohater had especially clean setups. If you get a chance at a future show, definitely check those out.

I hope the BMW dude with the 2 dead Lillies was able to work something out. I felt bad for that guy (sorry didn't catch your name). His install is going to be sweet once he gets the screen issues resolved.

BMW/Lilliput dude here. Ya, the meet was great. I was real worried about going to the meet without ANYTHING installed. Especially when Hae ran up to my car with a camera, asking me "where are your screens". Then I told her they were in the trunk, i dont think she expected to see a bunch of cardboard boxes filled with lilliput pieces. Thanks to everyone who tried the thousands of combinations of LCD/Board/Ribbons I brought. In the end, it seems that everything is shot, but Hae has taken the screens, and plans to get replacements from Lilliput. So, hopefully, with a couple bucks, I should have 2 new screens. This time, I will have the shop take apart the Lilli and put it in the custom bezel (the bezel is what drives me to install).
Thanks again to everyone (matrix, i thought your eyes were gonna fall out staring at those ribbon connectors).
On a good note, my pc has got a fresh XP install with all the drivers running tight on it. Just got a new bluetooth keyboard and mouse for my powerbook, which frees up the stowaway bluetooth keyboard for the carpc. HOT.
I hope, that for the April meet, I will have WORKING screens, and I'll bring my laptop to show off the iBus integration I was talking about. Its really slick. Maybe ill get to show off a whole system, but thats just being overly optimistic.

Hae - Have you heard anything from your Lilliput guy? Any idea when he will be back from China?

thanks.

First thanks a lot to Autocom for everything.
I came a little late, but at least I didn't miss anything.
Avidan, I hope your screen problem will be solve soon. It gona be one sweet install especially with all those IBus stuff you talking about. Hopefully next time.
To all those people who has nerve when crack open the Lilliput, take snapshot of every steps when you open. You will need them later cuz after a while you will forget what goes to where. That is how I did mine after I read numerous threads regarding ribbon cable and other related problems.
Another good thing is that the car wash. I was extremely happy with the result they did. It's much cleaner than when I bought the car. I am going to give the car a detail job (clay bar then wax.)
I brought my camera with me, but too many things going around that is why I didn't take any pictures. Next time guys.

Very glad I decided to make it out there; was nice to meet everyone and shoot the **** (not everyday I can find people who are actually willing to talk about computers lol)

Big thanks to Sons and Autocom for hosting!

We do need to find a new place though, something with ample parking. Next time we also need to make an official announcement thread
Park and ride parking lots are always good places; usually very large parking lot with very few cars.

Hello Guys!!!

0133L---How Do I upload the pics I took at the meeting?

avidan -- He's still not back yet. I'll let you know when he comes back to US.

Matrix PC-- Don't worry... I took some pictures... I'll have it up as soon as I know how to post it up! I also liked the car wash... Did you see the 350Z? It wasn't washed for 2 months and it looked brand new.

aoLhaTer--- Don't worry. Next time we'll have it where there is plenty of parking...

welthqa --I have the photos stored in my comp. You can find one pic on http://carputer.meetup.com/8/photos/

Webdog--we'll try to have it every month. Two people told me they can make it every month. I don't know about other people...

Hmmm... if the next meet is going to be in a month then I should be on my spring break

Upload pics by pressing on the "Add a photo" button at your link. But it seems that that site reduces the image size dramatically
