next time I would come more prepared..I honestly didn't think I was going to even make it until this morning...would have cleared a bunch of junk out of the truck & bolted the big amp in place....I also would have brought my keyboard embeaded in a steering wheel for showing....brung the wireless controllers for the ps2 or gamecube....could have taken turns racing or something through the tailgate
thanks for the compliments on the van.. it's still a big mess though, I hope to have some time to finish & button up everything, theres still alot of stuff I need to do...I got to hear your system but never got a chance to play mine for you, maybe next time we meet....

as far as that v1 interface, I want to look into that, sounds real interesting.wish I knew about it before, I would have liked to check that out, also the shuttle express, would have liked to check that out had I realized it was there also. Thanks for the motherboard links alti, I will check them out but I think I'm going to just choose between a few laptops that I have..either an ibm t40 with a dock or a dell that will probably be more disassembled & permanently installed...I'm having a tough time deciding whether I want a permanent embedded install or a semi permanent with ocasional removal for either satallite usage or ? I will decide real soon because I want to rip the p4 out right away.....
alti, I loved that allbrite...good luck with finishing off the bezel...I would love to mod a 8" screen to get that kind of brightness.

Turbocad..your setup is sick. Love the 15.4 dropdown and the console that you put together!
Alti...that monitor!
tj!2k4...nice indash setup with the V1
boynextdoor....love the US Postal tape!
I want to do something like that guy with the Audi. He molded the monitor into his dash with a slim slot fed cd drive under his monitor. Bondo?

Since I took the picture I will edit myself in a way that will make my identification unmistakable.

Yeah, I used fiberglass reenforced bondo to mold the screen in, you can get it from any of the auto stores. Then I used regular bondo body filler on top of it to get it smooth.

I think I was the last person to show up. I came to close the mall(lol). Yea I showed up like 7:59pm and TJ!2k4 and DK888 and one other guy(Green Jetta dude) were still at the spot. Thanks for stayin late guys, cause I woulda felt worse if I missed the whole thing entirely. They filled me in though, heard of all the nice setups e.t.c
When's the next meet? I was thinking may be in the next 3-4 weeks, give everyone enough time to fix stuff. I wanna throw one up in manhattan.(at one of those nice water parks by the westside highway)

There's also a good thread on using a solvent-based adhesive to mold the screen into the dash, instead of bondo - no itching and no cracking.

Ha ha ha! He called your Passat a Jetta! Sorry... that was a funny confusion...
I had a great time meeting you all and checking everyone else's work! BTW, I'm Bernard, the guy with the "Blue Screen" problem or the guy who was "Re-installing XP"...
Thanks to those who complimented my monitor and filled me in on some of the cool stuff... Turbocad had the illest Van ever!!
I hope I get things to run smoothly again for the next time we have a meet... This time around we could have better pictures of a Front-End rather than XP loading up! LOL
