Hey guys

Sorry i havent been posting lately i've had family problems and i haven't had enough time to go out and scout any sites

I'm busy this weekend im going up to NSW to see my nan so i won't be able to check for sites.

We might as well use the last site we had for the meet then i'll get BBQ and everything organised for the next meet after this 1

If we're going to meet at the same place as last time, where is that?

Cheers.

Sunday 22nd of May 2005
Boxhill Park, Boxhill
2.00PM

KFC Lunch After Meet

The next Meet which will be the BIG one with BBQ and all will be at a different location.

Using the same location is easier for the people from the First Meet and is simple for people to get to (it's the central spot for all mp3car melb users)

Of course its cool this is a Meet for anyone No CarPc Needed

of course if u have 1 it be better but then again we like to brag about our systems hehe

I'm still waiting to see that cortina pimped out pcman come to the meet I wanna see that car

Also I thought i'd just tell u the guys the good news

Selected Maccas (Mc Donalds) stores have wifi spots (1 in boxhill )

it's $10 for 3 hours or $3 for 40mins and it's broadband internet

just thought id tell u guys im testing it out hopefully tomorrow but thats damn cheap for broadband i think i'll be downloading some music for 40mins at maccas as my 33.6k at home takes a while :P

EDIT:

Oh yeah the password to logon to the network at maccas available at any selected store so i can download some stuff in boxhill then 1 month later logon to a maccas in nsw and still use the rest of my time left on the password

Now thats handy being able to save time and move to a diff spot so $10 for 3 hours would be handy anywere but i don't know how long the password is in the system before it expires

Still who wants some MacTime

when you find out more info on that macca's thing let us know. Sounds like a great way to do "stuff" on the internet.

Thats the only infot hey have lol

it's mainly for guys who have laptops who come in for coffee and stuff.

But here is the Lowdown

$3 gets you 40mins (might be 60 i don't remember)

there is something inbetween i don't remember how much and how many mins

$10 = 3 hours

Now the password you get to logon to the network is useable at any Maccas store in australia (as long as they have wifi)

Now This is a ISDN line through telstra.

I don't know when the password expires but it says that it is useable anywere.

Here are the locations which have Wifi spots (be handy in poi)
QLD Locations

VIC Locations

WA Locations

NSW Locations

SA Locations

There is a hotline for the Telstra wifi spots 1300 131 816

Not sure what you will find out tho besides speed?

I did ask maccas if they hve any info like a pamflet when i went into the store today and they said no they checked so i don't know how to get more info besides buying 1

The wifi spots have been there since the start of 2005 might of been since 2004 but i don't know

But everyone should check it out

maybe we should move the food from KFC to maccas lol

Yeah rust is the killer

I went to maccas and they didn't know how charge for the damn thing so i didnt get to use it

I rang up the telstra hotline and i got these quotes:

$5 = 15mins
$26 = 120mins

the guy was talking very fast so i didn't catch the rest Grrrr

But this is different pricing from what I saw on the sign at maccas up neer the NSW Boarder

He also said i have to buy a Card so it looks like u can to to a telstra mobile shop and get a card then use it at maccas without going inside.

The lines are ADSL (why i keep saying isdn i have no idea)

thats the only info i can give u

if i get time i'll try getting a card tomorrow and try it out but i probably won't
