Even though you can't make it, can your car make our engagement??? You know that's what we really want to see.

I'd love to try and make it sometime. I'm in Alabama and for the longest was the only one with a carpc installed so it's good to see more SE people especially near AL are cropping up.

I'm out for the May 21st date, but will definitely attempt some other time this summer after I finishing moving into my new house and hopefully after I've completed a couple of my updates to the maximapc

Notice

I think that we should use this website meetup.com to organize or meets from now on. I found this site a few months ago while googling for car meets and events in the Atlanta area. Cbergeron, who yall know, was the the original and only member at that time for the Atlanta carputer meet group. I quickly forgot about it once I noticed that there wasnt any activity on the group board and havent paid it any attention since. Yesterday I got an email from meetup.com stating that they needed an organizer. I guess Cbergeron stepped down or whatever, but anyways I find this to be an excellent oppurtunity to utilize their resources for organizing meets. This is what they say they have to offer.

Meetup Groups:

* are a local resource for people who share interests
* meet face-to-face, once a month or more
* are associated with similar groups around the world
* meet where you want, at your favorite café or in your living room — you're in control
* are purposeful, energizing and empowering
* can be invitation-only
* are fun!

Meetup.com makes it easy for you to:

* freely schedule events
* pick the right place and time to meet
* track RSVPs
* send automatic reminders
* communicate with members
* get event feedback
* promote your group
* learn from successful groups
* attract new members
* manage membership in your group
* set and collect membership dues or event fees from group members if you'd like
* be a part of something bigger by connecting with similar groups worldwide

To be a member in the group is free but do remember that the organizer pays the cost of $19 a month. I will pay this cost if I see enough real interst but If someone wants to be the organizer, just let me know. This would include the duties of organizing meets either monthly or bi-montly as we agreed upon on these boards. You are able to step down though whenever you choose. Cruise the site to get a feel for it. I was also thinking of also changing the site to Atlanta instead of Canton so that it appears to be more centrally located but we would still hold the meets in the northern metro area until further notice. Let me know if this a good or bad idea.

Carputer Meetup Group

VOTE:
1. Good or bad idea.
2. Start a group in Atlanta (as opposed to Canton)

I will post the results of the votes in the first post of this thread along with the prospective attending members.

Note: If you do sign up, I think it would be more beneficial if you used the same screen name as you do here or very similiar. For example, here I'm Osiris but on that site I'm OsirisAltima. This will help us recognize mp3car.com members easier.

I think it's a good idea but i think the city should be changed to "Greater Atlanta, GA" if that's even an option.

Maybe next time.. I'm also finishing up my Black FD and would like to put this Carputer on when i show up. Its still few months away. But will look completely different inside and out.

I'm also interested in local (alabama) gathering. I'm still so new to this and would like to know if someone could come out to our Rotary/Mazda gathering and show off their stuff. If interested, please PM me or email me at: Herblenny@gmail.com

I'm organizing a Rotary BBQ this summer.

newbies are welcome but they have to bring a cold 12 pack of your favorite geek drink ... i.e. Dr Pepper, Mountain Dew, Balls, Jones, etc. (no beer tho ... we don't want to get busted for drinking in public on best buy property)
