blackpacu - FDR park

Wait, coming from PA you rather go to FDR park???
Am I crazy, or what???
Anyway, I guess if FDR has more votes let's go there, does having lots of fine girls not make a difference???

If it's about the chicks, we might as well go to Orchard or Jones Beach.

It's not all about the chicks! But I can tell you that FDR park is not known for the chicks! Plus I think Jones beach'd be hell on traffic.

When I think of FMCP, I think of the Mets, Arthur Ashe and that woman that got gangraped by four hispanic men. I didn't know that Corona Park was known for its chicks and I have been there plenty of times.
There's a decent parking lot by the Queens Museum Ice Rink and another just north of the El.

would FDR park be any quieter / less crowded / less likely to have problems?
if so i'd have to favor that location.

I'd say that the parking lot of the Terrace is fine, there are other places around there that we can go to for bbq, and don't forget Corona Ice King is right there!!!

ahhh... a tie so far....... I guess I could sway it either way... I'm much closer to corona, but if fdr is a better place I don't mind the extra drive.... so I'll say either/or works for me....
that's an official no vote
either way I should be there.....

Wow! Those are odd thoughts about Flushing Park.

What's so odd about it? The Unisphere also comes to mind. Other World's Fair related structures and the Zoo come to mind too. Unfortunately, the gangrape got plenty of media coverage at the time. It's not any different from the Puerto Rican Day Parade. Ask any non-Boricua what comes to mind whenever someone mentions the PRDP and they will think of sexual assaults on young women. Nevermind that the majority of gropers were NOT Boricua.
Truth is I've never gone to FMCP for the girlies, but for Mets games, U.S. Open, the Dragon Boat Races and other dorky stuff.
