Ottawa meet September 1st!

Hey all Ottawa area people.
We're having a meet at 8pm this Thursday September 1st. Come to show off your setup, get ideas or just say hey.

EDIT: I forgot to mention where. The Canadian Tire at Huntclub and Merivale.

Try to make it out for this 1st one if only to say hey. Maybe we can make this a regular thing. If you're interested post if you're coming and what kind of car/carpc set you have.

I've got a silver Protege5 will a fully working carpc now. See my sig. It's actually a little different now. I'm trying out a new system I'm building for someone else.

Yup, i'm down for sure. Should be good times.

Unfortunately, I don't have a set up yet....but I have an idea of what I'm getting:

-Ampie case w/ M1-ATX or OPUS 150W (if i can figure out how to squeeze it in)
-SP13000 Mobo
-512 MB or 1 GB RAM (not sure yet)
-2 GB CF card for O/S and apps
-60 GB slim hard drive w/ USB enclosure for data
-slim DVD rom w/ USB enclosure
-Holux GPS
-motorized in-dash touch screen (not sure yet....possibly MTSVO-SC)

I'm in, and I've got nothing but ideas unless my 2.5" LCD and reverse camera comes in this week.

8PM is good, the cruise night (dunno if its over or not for the year) is usually held in the parking lot betwen the Starbucks/Second Cup and Crappy Tire.

I'll try and be there a little early, hopefully everyone will beable to spot my car:

Just realized I forgot to post the location in this thread. I was mentioned in the last one.

taylor192, you know it's huntclub/merivale right?
Is the a starbucks and 2nd cup there or are you thinking something else? I can't picture either coffee shop there.

Yep, Hunt Club/Merivale.

Take the entrance from Hunt Club and the LCBO is on your left, the Starbucks and Boston Pizza is on your right, Crappy Tire and The Brick straight ahead.
If you come in from Merivale, you'd only see the back of the Starbucks and never have known it was there.

The cruise night is usually held in the parking lot across from Crappy Tire. To explain, there's the parking lot immediately infront of CT, then across the roadway there's another parking lot with no store in it - kinda weird to have a parking lot for nothing, yet great for cruise nights.

Wasn't really an event. Just a few guys standing around talking.

Most people are still in the planning phase. Everyone looks like they're ordering now though. We all tag teams a big order with OTT Computing in Barrhaven.

Where are you with your system?

You guys wanna meetup at the Nepean Canadian Tire parking lot? When is car night over there? Is nepean not central enough for most people? Kanata? St-Laurent? Ideas?
