While I'm looking for a job i'm also working on a mame arcade machine. It keeps me occupied till I get a job interview.. hehe.. Well that's my excuse.. I've kind of put the car pc on the back burner cause I got a touch screen panel shipped ot me but when it rocked up it arrived cracked.. I was bumbed out but hopefully i'll get a replacement.

(Work in Progress)

By the Way NiN^_^NiN, What frontend are you using on your arcade cabinet? I'd like to share a few ideas about your setup as well.

im still a MAYBE.. on the first post it says im definate

I've got a whole list but the main one's are:
Scissor door conversion
Leather Seats
Leather door insert
Interior lights changed to LED's for a colour change
Clear Side indicators
GT Centre Reflector from USA
Lightweight wheels (had them at the last meet)
Dual Exhaust(at the last meet aswell)
And general touchup on the whole car

There's afew other ones but they arent really that important like sleepy eyes etc.

Cab looks good tho the control panel looks HUGE lol

I personally like running dos just so i can turn the cabinet on and off without shutting down and there's less chance of a screw up

The frontend i use is gamelaunch it's quite good i like it alot.

The only drawback of dos is some of the bigger games take longer to load than windows but it's not by much.

I also set up to have a power switch at the back of the cab right behind the marquee light and also one inside the cab so i can turn the cab on and off from the outside when i wanna play and i can flick the switch inside so when the door is locked to the cabinet the outside switch won't work it's handy incase people come and i don't want them to play :

Sweet.. Yeah I'm a big guy so I need a big control deck.. hehe.. It was meant to be one of those mini arcade cabs but grew with the ammount of visits to bunnings I did..

Thanks for the update. I'm using windows cause of it's compatability with the usb controllers and DX9 etc.. I'm running newer games as well as older ones.

I'll still be at the car meet next weekend. I hope I don't forget. .. Still no touch screen unfortinately.. Oh well..

See i used a WizMAX keyboard encoder and got a good deal on 2 joysticks and buttons from Oz-stick their prices on the website are quite high but if you walk in there they are quite good prices for parts atleast

I didn't even know the meeting was this weekend i'm gonna have to remember.

Sorry I changed it.. it was the 26th.. That makes it next weekend.. lol

Yeah With my joysticks I ordered some from ozstick. I got a pack of 12 buttons and 2 joysticks and i ordered an additional 3 buttons as well. I hacked apart 2 PSX controllers and soldiered the buttons up to the new ones with some wire. I'm then using a PSX->USB convertor to interface them with the pc. It's cheaper than buying a jamma board.

@Vxcarpc, I use maximus arcade as my Emu front end. No cabinet, just an HTPC hooked up to the HD plasma

Thought about building a cabinet, but I like the comfort of the couch, lol.

Tend to run SNES, N64 and Sega stuff more than the mame roms though

Edit, and forgot to mention, may not be able to stay long if at all on the 26th. Have to be out Geelong way in the afternoon for some ****up. (not my choice..(excluding the ****up bit))..

Im just hoping my new USB soundcard will be here in time. I've been using a crappy USB thing since my onboard sound died (cheapo from ebay) but it gets interference galore from the computer. Hopefully the new one wont! Otherwise be prepared to hear lots of crackles and pops

Bring along whatever ya got. I don't htink it realy matters if it's all working or not as long as you can fire up some part of it. I'm still sitting waiting for a new touch screen to arrive. I got a mega long USB cable which arrived today so all I'm waiting for is the glass screen.. It may or may not arrive before next weekend. I doubt it will but I'll have my psx controller hooked up anyway.

PS: Thanks for the emulator tips. I got a mate who also made a console with mame and other stuff on it too. I just wanted a stand up machine that people could play at my place for the coolness factor.. hehe.
