i got there at around 2.30 - but didnt see anyone so thought i was in the wrong parking lot, went to the other one, then went to the COX parking lot before returning to the main one where I waited. Two other guys showed up around 3. Issues of being in/near DC is traffic can not be predicted and then the site was huge a more specific location next time and I would like to get together again, like to see what others do and occasionally get some hands on help.

Shrinky, sorry to hear that. I hope all is well.

Everyone else, next time we should have a definate place and time frame. So people who get there early will know some of the stragglers will eventually will make it. Also, knowing what kind of cars to look for would be good.

That location was good because the end of the 'main' parking lot was empty. My only gripe was the road leading to the park SUCKED! I felt like I was off-roading.

Yeah I got to there about 1:30 so I could take pics of my car (she was clean lol I had to). SonicX showed up just before 2 and we hung around till about 2:30-40. I did notice when leaving that I395 South was ALLL backed up and that might have been part of the problem. I would have hung around longer just for the hell of it, but I'm working tonight. I'll be at the upcoming ones too for sure, and if I'm not working I'll def hang around for a while longer to ensure the stragglers make it. :-)

We really should throw up a poll for some exact locations and times to get a vote on it. How's about a thread for the new location and time, with a poll at the top for that as well??

You'll know my car. Thought of that today too, so I changed my avatar. The only way I knew SonicX's car was cuz I'd seen it in his avatar (his plate too )

hmm.. lol that's kinda a broad statement of location. Duke st. is pretty freak'n long and I'm almost positive there is more than one McD's ... LOL

I got there at 2:30 after some rough traffic going east on 66 and stuck around until a couple other people showed up, but overall the turnout was poor. The location is probably okay, but I think we need something more like a cookout next time so that it's flexible enough to accomodate everyone.

Also, I had no idea what cars to look for when I got there.

I am definitely in for a monthly meeting on a weeknight, not so much on a weekend.

I'm near Landmark Mall and Landmark Honda.

How about the great falls national park? there are HUGE parking lots, grills, picnic tables.. plenty of space for some lawn chairs..

And for clarification, I'm talking about at the Great Falls Park Visitor Center Location.. not the one to the right of it on the map.

http://www.nps.gov/gwmp/grfa/pphtml/facilities.html

http://www.nps.gov/gwmp/grfa/faqs/ac...es.htm#picnics

As far as the fees list for the park... I've been there about 3 times and never charged. Just an idea and it's away from the city... so no inner city driving.

Would be better for those coming from the I66W area as well. :-)

The pizza hut near the Honda Dealership?

I live near there also, Windsor at Arbors apt complex.

umm I've no clue about a Honda Dealership, so I'm gonna say no..

I'm RIGHT off I395 and Glebe. If you're going North on I395 and get off at Glebe going East, and keep going right, you'll see a Pizza Hut there... I'm kinda across from there.

I do know landmark mall though Bought all my Craftsman Tools at that Sears :-)

I'm up for the monthly as well. I work 3 on 3 off (6pm-6am) so it shouldn't be a problem. As far as knowing the car's... lol I know Sonic and I have our avatars as'm... an Idea... for the next meeting, when we create the list of who's gonna be there, in the initial post we can post the names with a link (or the avatar) to their car or something next to the names.. might help

I showed up late (3:00), but come one how many people all show up half an hour early anyways?

I am definately up for a monthly meet, as long as we have maybe a two hour time frame.
