GOOD GOOD... so far we have 3 or so for a monthly meet
I was just giving you guys a hard time. sounds like we all just missed each other - maybe someone should bring a giant mp3car banner next time, so we don't have confusion where to meet?

lol I know.. yeah I mentioned the MP3Car signs/banners too. That, knowing the cars that'll be showing up, and a more exact location should make things better. Kinda sad we all missed each other, I was really looking forward to seeing more. Next month though, for sure Even if I have to take off work a few hours damn it.. lol
lol just imagined myself pulling into the lot, with the top down on the convertible, a huge MP3CAR.com Flag just a whipp'n in the wind... damn, the looks we'd get

To borrow a post from another thread...

The good outcome could be, we'd build some good friendships, and meet new people, and we don't always need to discuss our car-pc projects, we're all quite nerdy, we could discuss many things.
and we won't ahve to decide on a day to meet, it usually is our biggest issue.. and location.. we should proably keep the same location, expect for special events or something, that way you don't kneed to be "in the know" to show up and hang out.
I think we should do something similar. Having something like the every 3rd Thursday or Saturday of a month and have the location the same (except for the special events), so like in the quote above, "you don't have to be in the know to be able to show up and hang out".
So we should setup a location that's "pretty" good for all involved (I know it's impossible to please everyone), and pick a day that would stay consistent. Also, make it for a set amount of time, so that if some aren't able to make it within the first 30-45min... there will still be people around when others do show up. Say a timeframe of 3 hours or so? Not too bad for a weekend. I will be one of the ones from now on that will be there the full time (unless I'm working that day).
Yay or Nay??

lol ok so we have 4 "yays" so far... alright...
so should we start the discussion/poll for the day of the month and timeframe and location of the monthly meetings in another thread and include a link to it from this thread or carry it out in this one?

Sounds good...I couldn't make it this weekend but I'm in for the idea. I like Great Falls too...more central to the folks in areas like Silver Spring/College Park even though you still have to cross the river.

Ok, so 6 in for the monthly meets so far.
So is something more towards the Great Falls location better? I just realized that though it might be a great place (huge parking areas, grills, easy access, etc), if we do get rained out, there is no close location (that I'm aware of) to move the meet to. Like at Accotink Park, we could have easily gone to the Springfield Mall's parking garages....
For days of the week... We have Tues/Wed/Thur/Sat...
How about which week? Is the third week of each month good?

We had last year's meet at Great Falls and I remember paying to get in. Also had to pay toll.

suggestions anyone? need plenty of parking, so we can have our group off to a side, without other folk getting all up in it, and if we're gonna do the "get-together / meet and greet" side of things, we need a place to grill and just chill for a few hours at least.

Springfield mall parking lot is a large area. There are many 'satellite' lots we can take over. And we can grab some food at Bennigans or something. If we're having these during the week I'm sure the parks all close at dusk.

i'm coming from the oakton/vienna area as well, nice to see another person from this area with the same hobby (MadJad), I guess now I have competition, haha.
I'm really looking forward to these meets, because I can get quick and accurate help and recommendations.
