A couple of options, both close to Tysons Corner which has food and parking for the rainy/cold days and is easier to get to than Springfield (unless you live down there ) I've never been to either to know if they have grills, tables, etc. Map attached.
Scott Run Community Park/Westgate Park
Lewinsville Park - Chain Bridge Road, McLean. Located off of Chain Bridge Road in McLean, Lewinsville Park accommodates all of your fitness needs while offering a fun and healthy atmosphere. The park provides football and baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts, as well as countless hiking and fitness trails and playground areas for the kids.
Or further north, there's Cabin John Regional Park right next to Montgomery Mall at the intersection of 270 and 495.

hey guys I was just thinking. If we do this on a weeknight, unless it's late as heck, there's going to be rough traffic all around the dc metro area... esp the south and west sides of the beltway.
Also, tonight is my last work night for 3 days, so I'll probably run out and check these parks out.
The Tysons and Springfield areas are both good for rain/cold days along with food at both locations... I would have to agree, even though Springfield is much closer for me, that the Tysons area might be a more central location for all. Esp since we have people coming from Vienna, and some way out in West and North Maryland...

my vote's for the weekend (sat) since i'm comming from Frederick. Third week sounds good. i'm not familiar with the area, so location isn't a big deal for me (what's 5 more miles on 40 anyway)?

Anymore suggestions from anyone? Look'n like the 3rd week of each month, leaning more towards a Saturday and more towards the west side of the beltway.
I still haven't made it out to those two parks (been crazy busy with other things), but I'm gonna try tomorrow morning (after I change my oil and fuel pump).

NoVa/DC meet-up
damn, as usual I'm a day late and $1 short. Wish I'd checked this out earlier, I'm new to the area (just came back from Germany) and am in the process of putting my first system together for my '06 Mini convertible. Would love to see some other rides and systems.
Anything planned anytime soon? I'm game most all evenings and weekends, since I haven't established a life here yet!
Suggestions or ideas?

mini meet
I should have known there'd be a bunch of people here in this area, since it's so crowded!
Sounds good, where's the core group?

lol what's up my Alexandria peeps?!?!
seriously though... we're planning on monthly meets, for the DC Metro area, the 3rd week of each month, most likely on Saturday, but we really haven't set a location... actually haven't gotten a 'whole' lot of input... we'll see though...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As far as the Alexandria folk, we can always do a mini-meet. I'd be game, on a Sat preferably. I work this Sat, but not till 6pm, the same for next Sat.
We could meet at Landmark Mall... huge parking lots, and if it's nasty we can hit the massive parking garages there.

Alexandria meets
Sounds good, I'm definitely game!
Do you guys hook up over email or here on the forums?
I just checked my interior for the nth time and yet again I'm wondering where the heck I'm going to plant this setup in a MINI. Cool, fun car but no extra space. (Last car was even worse, an NSX.) All this is to say I could use some ideas!
Beer will get me there even faster.
I'll keep an eye on the forums and hope to meet some of you soon!
Email is always a good way, too.

Usually over the forums, but that did kinda leave things open and confused and no means of contact for last minute things for our last meet (well some have wireless internet doh)... lol we might should remedy that somehow, either phone/text/email/im.. lol something...
A mini.. wow, that should be fun I'm sure someone will come up with some ideas.
How long have you been in the us.army.mil? lol I served my eight and ski-dattled...

Ditto here... I did 7 years, figured out it wasn't for me anymore after my flight package got screwed up, and got out over in Italy. Stayed there for another 11 years as a civilian working for the Army and by now it's become a career, you know? Too much time with Uncle Sam to give it away now! I work at the Hoffman complex over on Eisenhower near the bridge, doing IT/systems stuff for HQ.
I'm anxious to see some other cars and systems, there's so much you can do with these and so many ways to set them up, can't wait to share ideas and see what others have done.
Ah... good to be back in the States. Just got back from 5 years in Germany.
