I work at the Hoffman complex over on Eisenhower near the bridge, doing IT/systms stuff for HQ.
I'm anxious to see some other cars and systems, there's so much you can do with these and so many ways to set them up, can't wait to share ideas and see what others have done.
Ah... good to be back in the States. Just got back from 5 years in Germany.

Ah cool, I served my first 2 in Germany (most of that deployed to kosovo/macedonia), then the last 6 in the DC metro area (undisclosed location, then Pentagon). I'm working for DHS now at their HQ doing IT/systems stuff as well. lol. I'm still needing to get in on the Gov side though.. I'm a lowly contractor for now. Ah, the Hoffman building. lol that's where I decided I was getting out; after they told me that if I reenlisted, I would be spending my next 2 in Iraq.. lol I said thanks, but no thanks.
Well it sounds like our mini-meet might turn out to be pretty cool. Anyone have suggestions on which upcoming Sat to do this? I'm good for any Sat for at least the next 4-5 weeks . lol I do love my job. 3 on 3 off..

don't blame you, I would have walked too. Don't even get me started!
Too funny, though, lots' of similarities... Most of the contractors I know are anything but "lowly!"
Anyhoo, I'll keep my eyes peeled on the forums here and I'm nearly always on email, so I'll make sure I'm at the next meet with everyone. Say when, I'm bored out of my skull in this hotel room all the time and I'm still looking for digs.
Talk to you soon - Don

If we go for this upcoming week, I'll have to roll out at 5pm to head into work. I'm completely free the following Sat, the 9th. lol though if we're doing an AREA meet on the third Sat... lol that's the following Sat, the 16th (5 Sat's this month). I'm game though... just need some other folk to jump on board.
for the mini meet, I'm not real familiar with the landmark mall area. the mall has food, and I'm sure there is somewhere to eat around there. we should do the meet, then go grab something to eat/drink... don't wanna be walking around in the heat having just eaten.

Ok, so who's up for a Saturday Meeting at Landmark Mall on the 9th of September? Time negotiable. We'll probably grab a bite to eat afterwards in the vicinity of the mall, or at the mall... meeting in front of Sears , if rain, in the parking garage near sears, top covered level.

I'll add your name to the list as I see the "hands raised". Let me know if you're doing the meet. Also start suggesting a time for the meet. For those attending, I'll PM you my Cell # a day or two before the meet so we'll have a form of contact to reduce confusion.

I've been watching these forums on and off for a little while now. I just moved to Fairfax and I'm halfway through my install in my '02 Acura MDX and would like to meet the fine folks in the NOVA area and see everyone's setups. I travel frequently on the weekends, but right now the 9th looks ok so you can pencil me in for the meet. I look forward to seeing everyone there.
Hopefully I'll have something to show by then (I just spent the last week removing my existing Dension Hard drive MP3 player and reworking my factory subwoofer with an Infinity 10" and an Alpine amp as well as ripping out the factory CD deck and replacing with an Alpine 4 channel amp so that the PC can source the amps directly - which all came together nicely albeit a lot more fabrication than i expected). Things are kind of a mess right now as I am still deciding what touch screen I want to use and figuring out how to pull my factory Nav system and fabricate a dash panel to hold the new touch screen. Currently my Fujitsu 10" laptop is sourcing the amps from the front seat and my factory nav system is still in use for navigation with a gaping hole in the dash where the factory CD player used to be. Quite cumbersome but it works.

All are welcome, even if you don't have a setup or it's only partially installed. It's still great to meet up, check out other installs, get ideas, and share ideas, etc..

meet-up 9 September
I'll be there. I may actually have something installed by then, but I doubt it. Could be that I'll bring my mobo along, just to have something to look at.
Looking forward to checking out the rides and installs!
Time and place will be fine with me, whatever they are, just say when/where.
