OK I lost it....
whatever, I live in fort myers, miami is over 2hours one way for me.
wait...started noticing something, ppl from orlando always complain about distance for every meet thread posted. But, to no avail, do any post a location, or let alone help find a place to meet in orlando. Always, ALWAYS "how about near my house, I don't want to drive more than ten feet from my house."
Alot of people since the first meet have helped looking for location. The list is too long to post. I have shown my appreciation to fellow members for their help and support. And, like I said in ALL the previous meet threads, if you want a meet near your house, orlando or any other city, go scout for a place that can handle 20+ cars, people, with food, good area, without being hassled by security or police.
Anybody wants a meet in their front yard post address. Last year, sickvette had it at his house in tampa and it turned out great.
I would love to have a meet in orlando, since alot of people want one there, but NO ONE wants to make an effort to scout. That is why.

Exactly!! this is what we discussed last meet, everybody say they don't want to drive more than X hours and even if we find a place that they like they don't come and then start "sorry i have to do this..." "i blew a tire on my way there..." and all kind of excuses.
Also it may look like I want the meet in miami cuz I live here but I can tell this, find a place like Eric's office with huge parking lot right at front, a place where we can talk freely without watching words that may be offensive for girls and kids (you all know what I mean), be there the time that we want no need to go running cus is past 8:00 pm (last time we stay really late *10:00 PM) and I go no matter if is 3 hours drive or whatever.
Thanatos.

/peers out from hiding
As I am back in school full time for the fall, Miami is a bit of a drive, however, I have hosted a bunch of meets at Fort de Soto park.
http://www.pinellascounty.org/park/05_Ft_DeSoto.htm
I'd be happy to do all the leg work if people are willing to show up. Parking...not an issue, at all. A year ago we had a meet there and ended up doing some 0-60 times int he parking lot we had so much room. Had a shelter to ourselves about 50ft from the sand. The beach is amazing....I love this place, end of story, it's perfect for meets imo, right in the middle of Florida, on the coast.
Let me know so I can call ahead and snag us a shelter...lets get a nice beach meet in before everyone form New York shows up with their motorhomes.

I just called Fort de Soto park and we can snag one of the shelters for September 10th, or the 17th. I made sure to ask about parking clearly stating "each person at the meet will have their own car, we don't really carpool". She responded with "not a problem, what kind of cars are these?". The conversation spun off into people talking on cell phones while driving, and we surf the internet etc. Lots of laughs, however we are good to go, I just need to call her back with a day. Sundays work better than Saturdays I was told, so keep that in mind.
