North Dallas Meet
Ok people, it's time again. We had a meet last month and it went well, so when is this month's meet?
The dates we have coming up are the 16th and the 23rd. I don't know if the 16th is too soon, but let me know. Also, where? Let's shoot for a less populated area this time and let's have some type of landmark to meet at instead of people who don't know each other meeting in a crowded parking lot.
So let's hear it....

won't be able to make either date.
Honnestly, IMO, both dates are way too early.
We have had the best succcess in planning them a month out or so.
Many people (ourselves included) already have plans two weekends out.
For instance: this weekend we're in Atlanta showing the car, next weekend we have a photgrapher from Car Audio and Electronics magazine flying out from California to do a photo shoot of the car.
Need more notice!
However, if others can make it and want to meet up, go for it!
I for one would much rather meet up at a restraunt, set a meeting time, be there in the parking lot for a while, then, once people have shown up, head in, grab some food, some drinks and relax.

Yeah, It's sorta early for me too. I like it when lots of people show up. I like meeting at a restaraunt, just need to leave some sort of notice with the hostess and tell people to check with the host/hostess.
Or meet somewhere smaller. Whoever set up the last meeting place - niiiice. I'm kinda new to the area, but is there any drive in place...sorta like sonic except more skimpily-clad.
I propose Sept 30 or Oct. 7, but I will still show up if everyone wants to meet on the 16th or 23rd. I'm just that into car PC's!!!

I'm thinking a mid-October meet.
Maybe a costume meet in honor of Halloween?
OK, maybe not. Hell, we'll all show up dressed as geeks!

Mid October dates are the 14th, 21st, and 28th.
Votes?

14th works for the since its the closest one
I have an idea though. I dont know about Costumes, but we could meet up someplace near or even in a parking lot to a Haunted House. That way, while the sun is up its cars and computers, come night fall, its haunted house fun
Granted, its not my cup of tea- But I like that idea alot better over costumes... Just my opinion....

That's a damn fine idea, we87!
I'll grab an Observer over the weekend. The area Haunted Houses should start advertising in the very near future.

That's cool. I've actually never been to a real haunted house presentation. ust a crappy attempt at one quite a few years ago.

Haunted House sounds real fine! My vote is Oct 28th. The best haunted houses that I've been to have been done by little towns in abandoned houses....More likely for disfigurement. Please, no goody, goody two-shoes haunted houses! I just got cingular wireless internet for my house and Pickup. Dang external PCMCIA device is hard to find cheap.

I hear ya BigTime, I went with the Kyocera K1 router instead. Not much more expensive and has a lot more functionality and features to it.

Thanks RedGti!!! What PCMCIA card are you using, and you are with Cingular, Right? This is turning into a heck of a deal. You understand! I'm definately getting it figured out, but now that I have read lots of the forum, all of the talk about getting the net cheaper and even free is perplexing. Maybe you have looked into all of this. I doubt any of their methods have great speeds upwards of 700k. Can you please save me an assload of time, so I won't look into all of it.
Oh, if you're not with Cingular. Who are you with and have you compared the internet carriers...: sprint verizon T-Mobile etc.
If tons of people don't have probs meeting on Oct. 28th, by Oct. 7 it should be set in stone. This might be a bad weekend as Halloween weekend is huge!

Oh so true. And in light of that and that there'll be alot of parties that weekend that I don't want to have to miss the meet to attend, I suggest the 21st. By then the haunted houses will be in full swing and there might not be all that many peoplethere then.
So how about the 21st?
