October 12th sounds good to me. I'm going to another carputer event in Nashville the following week. It's actually another event that just happens to have a carputer presentation.

Hopefully I can have everything done by that time. The computer is no problem, but my touchscreen has been poorly fitted in the dash for a couple years so it's time to do some real fabrication. I may not have the finishing touches done on the fabrication, but I'm sure we all know how these projects can be ongoing.
Where is a good place to meet in B'ham? Somewhere around the Homewood area is usually best for me.

Saturday, October 5th would be best for me. Either in the morning or evening so i can get some golf in while I'm there
I am in Huntsville as well. What part are you in?

I'm near 5 points. I'm not sure there are enough people for a HSV meeting, so i'm happy to travel to B'ham or Nashville to meet with a good sized group.
My upgrade may be delayed though. I just got a call from my roommate saying that he found a package on the front porch which is suspiciously flat. As in, run over by a very large truck kinda flat.
So here's to hoping the new hardware was packed well, or i'll be waiting on the exchange process. I asked him not to open it yet, so I still don't know what's in the crushed box.

May I suggest CompUSA in B'ham? Plenty of eaterys around along with the Galleria (mall).
My carputer is still in it's infancy but I would love to get advice.

The Galleria?
Now, I may be a newcomer to the Magic City, but even I know that is the worst traffic in The metro area. 31 & 150 is a nightmare, to be honest....
Just my two cents.

I don't know. Since they built the new flyover you can exit off of 459 and be at the Galleria parking deck in a matter of seconds. CompUSA is just 1 block right of the flyover. Matter of fact, I was there this past Saturday and was shocked at the improvement compared to the way it used to be.
I am game for anywhere though. I just wanted to start the suggestion pile. CompUSA sounded good b/c I could get some shopping in while I was there.

I come from the north end of town, so perhaps my perspective is skewed. There is no easy way to get there from where I come from, I s'pose.
But i'm game, either way.

I don't know Birmingham well, but the galleria area seems fine to me. As long as I have an address, the car will find it.
How does 8:30pm sound? I would prefer that we not meet too early, since I have to drive from HSV.

Part?
There's different parts of Huntsville?
I'm on the west side. Right on the border with Madison.
